First of all let's get some things straight, you lot should all pay me lots and lots of money. For reasons such as I had to stay up late all week just to finish the game in time to make my review for all of you. Also because I had to waste my whole weekend making this review... Second, I have not accepted bribes from a company that has a name related to a four-sided two dimensional object. Third, I'm well aware of the length of this opinion, and I suggest you only read the parts necessary in your decision if you want to save time. Now that's been said, let's begin... Inside the four disks of Final Fantasy IX, you will find a world. A world of ... Read the complete review

The Final Fantasy? 'Course not!! Kill off a series like this? Squaresoft would have to be run by a bunch of manic-raving lunatics to STOP making Final Fantasy games. They have already promised us Final Fantasy ten, eleven, twelve etc... But we are not here to talk about what's going to happen. Back to current events, and that means Final Fantasy IX! Characters If you compare Final Fantasy IX's character's to that of FF8 or 7, you will realise that firstly, they have ditched the 'grown-up' look of FF8, and returned to the fun, 'anime'-style characters of 7 and 6. Also, instead of having lots of serious ... Read the complete review

Well here I am again, writing about another Final Fantasy title. Wow, it seems like only yesterday I was writing about the magnificent Final Fantasy 7. Well I suppose I should just explain a few details. Final Fantasy 9 is the final (excuse the pun) fantasy for the Playstation. It was released in July in Japan, November in the USA and strangely February in the UK! What?! What is the difference between the American version and the English? Well, never mind, it's here now. It will cost you just under forty pounds and comes on four disks! This might not be a huge surprise to veterans of Final Fantasy, as the last one was also ... Read the complete review

'Final Fantasy 9' is the latest in Squaresoft's series of Japanese role-playing games. As ever, Europe had to wait several months after the U.S. release of the game, for indiscernible reasons. Nonetheless, the game finally received its U.K. release on the 23rd February 2001. After some pretty intensive playing, I finished the game on the 4th March 2001, taking a total of 38 hours. One of the things that frustrates me about opinions that people have written of the game on dooyoo is how astonishingly few of them have actually spent any time playing the game before commenting on it. How can you comment usefully about the plot of the game without ... Read the complete review

Prefer the cartoony, more Tolkien-like charcters and graphics of Final Fantasy 7 to the uber-hip cyber-punk of FF8? FF9 takes the game back to the FF7 style but still keeps the graphical splendour that made FF8 look so much better than the previous rendition. I've only had this game for a day now and only played it for a few hours, but have taken the time out of running round some scary dark forest to tell you that this game absolutley kicks the asses of the other two! From the opening sequence (or should that be sequences seeing as you play during it?) you can see that Squaresoft have taken on board what people complained about after FF8 was released. They ...
