Think of a fairy tale that will never come true, and then think of this game. They are virtually the same. Final Fantasy VIII is the tale of a love story... a love story that, infact, can only happen on your television screen or in a book. A beautiful, sensitive, gorgeous lady doesn't fall in love with an egotistic, self-centered jerk, it just doesn't happen. Well, I guess now you can tell that I'm not too enthused about this game. However, despite from what I've just mentioned, the story is one of the best parts. It may be unrealistic, but it is quite the adventure. The CG cinemas are awe-inspiring, the characters are interesting to listen to, and the music is superb ... Read the complete review

Final Fantasy VIII, sequel to the amazingly successful Final Fantasy VII, is the second of the monster RPG series to hit the Playstation. The title is a bit misleading though, the latest game is number 9 and number 10 is being made to be released on the PS2. As with its predecessors the game is completely separate from its past - you have a new world to explore and a whole new cast to control. You get to play with a varying compilation of characters, the main ones being: Squall – Cloud’s replacement, he’s the main guy. He is you and you are him. Squall is quiet and spends a lot of time thinking rather than speaking. His weapon is a ... Read the complete review

Well, here I am again, reviewing yet another Final Fantasy title! This is the eighth instalment of one of the most famous and spectacular sagas. The last Final Fantasy was number 7, and was also on the Playstation (for those of don’t know). Final Fantasy 7 is regarded by most, to be the greatest game of all time, even now. As for myself, I can’t really decide. I think that it should be one of the greatest games of all time, as there are several others, i.e. Metal Gear Solid, Zelda 64: Ocarina of time etc… But back to Final Fantasy 8. After Final Fantasy 7, people were wondering what Squaresoft would decide to do next. ... Read the complete review

So, Final Fantasy 8 - the latest big game in a huge series spanning over a decade, so this is going the be the greatest thing to hit the Playstation ever, right? Wrong. FF8 carries on the traditions of the previous games, but opts for a more 'Western' graphics style. This means that instead of little cute guys with huge heads, this time you're controlling some believable characters who actually look like real people. The quest itself is fairly bog-standard RPG fare - your group of misfits are thrown together by a common enemy, in this case an evil sorceress from the future who wants to destroy everything. Gameplay is typical Final ... Read the complete review
