Advantages: Graphics, sound, gamplay.

Disadvantages: Less in-depth/emotive plot than number 7

This is the second "Final Fantasy" game on the Playstation, in which you have to fight monsters with magic, fighting and so on.If you have played FF7 then you will know that the FF series has a very intricate storyline, in which you find out a lot more about the characters and their history. This game is no different as you will find out as you read on.

The graphics in this game are nothing short of amazing, a whole world of mountains, valleys, rivers etc is very well realised, as well as the almost life like FMV sequences which help to move the storyline along and get a real feel for what is happening. Another thing is the fight scenes, where even the most simple of attacks has the most intricate detail.

The materia system of FF7 has been removed in favour of a system in which you collect magic by drawing it from "draw points" as well as taking it from the enemy after defeating them. There are such things as potions and elixirs, all the way to lightning, fire and comet attacks.

The Chocobos from all the rest of the series stay in this game too, they are large chicken type animals on which you can ride themfrom place to place, like a horse. Which can be very helpful at times, although they are used less than in FF7, which is a shame.

Another additional feature in this game is the "triple traid" game, which is essentially a "Pokemon" style card game where you collect cards from all around the world and challenge almost anyone to a game. You can then, further on in the game, swap these cards for items which you may want. Although if you don't ever play this card game, you won't lose out technically, because none of the items you get from it are essential.

I belive that this is one of THE games to have on your Playstation, although I think that FF7 had a more detailed plot, this game is still top class.
