Advantages: Good fun, Right level of difficulty, Two player option

Disadvantages: Not overly complex or original concept

I first played this game on an arcade machine and loved it. After pumping a fortune into the machine, my friend bought the playstation version and it's well worth the money.

You pick a character - archer, warlock type creature, dwarf or rather vampy sorcerer. The characters are pretty much of a muchness from what I can gather - so just pick the one you like most.

You then go on a quest to find rune stones and turn on obelisks and thereby save the world from an evil dragony thingy - the usual stuff. There are various levels including a castle scene and an ice world. The levels aren't that different except for scenery, and a slight difference in the horrid monsters you have to kill. The format is the same - run around shoting things and using magic until you find the rune stone or exit and that's that. It's not rocket science, but it's good fun - particularly if you use the two player option. Be warned if you do this though - the figures can get stuck behind eachother. You can collect various special powers and you slowly progress up through levels which increases you overall killing power.

The game is not complex. Fight your way through levels - each with a end level baddie. I don't know what happens at the end - I've not yet reached it. But it's fun and not too difficult. Difficult games are so frustrating! This is nothing overly special, but a good laugh - especially if you are the sorceress (she makes very enthusiastic noises about the food power-ups! Gets a little overexited I think!).
