Premium Review Gran Turismo 2 (PS): Gran Turismo 2 (160 words)

Gran Turismo 2 Personally I wouldn't say that Gran Turismo 2 is better than Gran Turismo 1. The graphics are still quite bad but it is a play station 1 game. The structure of the main menu is exactly the same as the previous Gran Turismo. When I play this game using Analog the reaction time is so bad. This game is a classic. Although if we didn't have the old games like this we wouldn't have the new games like Gran Turismo 4 with outstanding graphics. The arcade mode is quite good but if you want to play for money then you have to play the game in career mode. In career mode before you can enter in all the big races you have to get your driving licence just ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Overdrive... (2748 words)

Initial opinions about Sony is that their first party support sucks compared to the likes of Nintendo and Sega's, who have at least a variety of Marios, Sonics, Jet Set Radios and Zeldas at their disposal. Yet, out of all the Crash Bandicoots and Syphon Filters that Sony has so far offered, stood out, Gran Turismo... The smell of rubber is finally added, through the use of rubbing the GT mode disk. Now it's in two disks, with over 600 cars, several new dirt tracks, even more difficult tests, and realism that - while adding to the experience - never hinders the game's fun factor... So what can go wrong? Well, to say that Gran Turismo 2 is ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Gran Turismo 2 (PS): Best on the Market! (1050 words)

This is my favourite game of all time! There really is no game like this. You can end up playing it for hours on end, just trying to get money to buy a car to win a race to buy a car to win a race etc. This game explodes with longevity; you can literally play it for years. I got my copy when it was first released and I still play it (but that I lost one of the two discs, which gives me a little problem with finishing the game). The game comes on two discs - disc one is the arcade mode, disc two is simulation. It's best to start off and finish the arcade part first (it is far easier to start off with believe me), although you do need to get ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Gran Turismo 2- racing friend or foe??? (3698 words)

It might have the same bodywork as the original, but Gran Turismo 2 has been turbo-charged, re-sprayed and fine-tuned! One hour later, with palms sweating and blurred vision, my GT40 crossed the line 3 laps ahead of my nearest rival. After 30 laps of Apricot Hill, I still had another hour and 100 Kilometres ahead of me. Gran Turismo 2 is the biggest, best, and most realistic racing game ever to land on any games console! With 28 tracks and around 600 cars, it was always going to be a mammoth task to complete this game. First of all: THE TRACKS Super Speedway: A straight test of speed! Adjust the gearbox for a high top speed ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Gran Turismo 2 (PS): What a Gran Game! (845 words)

Gran Turismo 2. I’d seen a lot of reviews about it, and I’d seen it being played on Tv shows when it was first released but I’d never actually got round to playing it and as an avid fan of car games, I don’t really know why I held back so much from playing it! I then saw it available for rent in Blockbusters, so I thought what the hell and rented it, and I’m glad I did! Suddenly I was deeply engrossed in this game, although I didn’t know how to play it properly or what to do, I knew to race and that was it. I was playing the arcade version and not the tournament version and even with the arcade version I was very impressed ...  Read the complete review
