Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular video game series of our time, notably because it allows the player to revel in a world where you are a paid criminal and can do pretty much anything you want. Of course, Grand Theft Auto was where it all began and where the world was introduced to a franchise which would become more and more controversial as time went by. The first GTA was a huge success and it is easy to see why. This game is set in 3 fictional cities in the United States; San Andreas, Liberty City and Vice City (later to be used as backdrops for later releases on the PS2). Each city holds 3 special levels where you are taken under a ... Read the complete review

Firstly there was Mortal Kombat, then Duke Nukem and most recently Grand Theft Auto. What do these three very different game franchises have in common? They have all proved incredibly controversial, and though the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series has since evolved from the low-fi, sketchy violence displayed in it's original guise, it was the first PSOne title that rattled a record number of politicians and Daily Mail readers back in 1997. If all other games before it were decent, clean-cut pupils at the school of PlayStation, GTA was the hard-knock bully - it looked rather rough and scruffy, but sure enough provided unrivalled levels of violent entertainment to ... The idea of allowing your children to steal cars, work for the city’s crime lords, and outrun the police is ridiculous, isn’t it? Not if they’re playing ever-popular Grand Theft Auto for the Sony PlayStation gaming console! This game was picked up at a pawn shop for about twelve dollars over one year ago, and has provided endless hours of excitement and entertainment ever since. My four younger siblings and myself still play it an average of once a week, which makes it more than worth the money dished out. All in all, the idea of becoming a rebellious thug is amusing – even if the fantasy DOES end when the game is turned off. ... Read the complete review

Okey you`ve almost certainly heard of this one. The game with a million reviews and yet none of them *really* about the game. Grand Theft Auto at time of release was held up as some sort of symbol of crumbling society. The Media and Politicians quickly jumped on the band-waggon and called for it to be edited, banned blah de blah blah. Anyway the game obviously got released and due to all the hype became a huge success. The hype alone wasn`t the cause however as this is actually a very good game. ******************************************* ~Aim of the game~ The basic aim is for the player to control a career criminal in an American city specific ... Wow! What a great game! It’s the first gave where you can actually choose where you go, there is no set track to follow and the object of the game is mainly to kill innocent people! The game is playing from a birds eye view so you can see what’s in front, behind and to the sides of you at all times. Another great part of the game is the fact that you can get out of the car and get into other people’s cars, even if they’re still driving them! You can, if you find them, drive armoured tanks that cause incredible havoc on the city, but also get you a few points as well. There are 3 levels in total and to complete them you either get the required ... Read the complete review
