Wow this takes me back a bit and makes me realise how far computer games have come in such a small amount of time. My favourite car was the Sierra Cosworth and you could only find white coloured versions.

This game when first released caused a few discussions surrounding the issue of its release. The main aim of the game is to complete various missions for which most of the time they are illegal and against the law e.g. transport weapons, assassinations and most illegal of them all parking on double yellows.

Each GTA game tends to have a fabulous soundtrack which is played cleverly through the various radio stations whilst driving in a vehicle you may have just stolen.

The series of GTA has grown very popular and is now one of the most played games ever. Many different actors including Dennis Hopper, Samuel L Jackson and Burt Reynolds have produced voice over for characters in the these games.

Onscreen terror is shown from a top-down view which zooms out you speed up in your vehicle, which gives you a higher viewing point and allows you to see traffic and turns further down the road.

The camera view then zooms up close as you slow down or if you are walking on foot so you are able to see all of the destruction and mayhem up close.

The game can only be played offline as back in these times online play for only a dream. To sum this game up the graphics are a little basic but the sound effects are anything but basic.

This game should remain a 18 but if your favourite games are 'beat em ups' then this is the game for you.

Summary: Very popular game when released and the series is still going strong today
