Half Life (PS)

My friend recommended this game to me and if this friend recommends a game then it must be good. So I pottered off to town and bought myself a copy. I was not disappointed :-) The game was installed in what seemed like a few minutes and before I knew it I was being attacked by aliens left right and centre! This is a game which gets you straight into the action with a few puzzles along the way. As I’ve been challenged by my good friend and colleague andycharger to beat his Half-Life review, honour and reputation are both at stake, so settle down for the review of the year. Half life is a game that I borrowed from a friend at work. He is also a member here so I challenge him to a writing competition about this game. Come on Arthur, you know you can do better.... Anyway, Half life has been a very enjoyable, if obvious puzzle/action game in the same genre as Doom/Quake. A "behind the eyballs" type game where you command the character as he/she interacts with his/her environment. The first five minutes of the game was amazing the first time I watched it. At first I thought it was just an opening movie, so I was watching it. After about a minute, I accidentally hit the mouse, and I was looking at the ground. At that moment, I knew this game was going to be amazing. I realized that this was not a movie, but the game itself. Sure, after going through the beginning a couple of times, it gets boring, but that first time it is amazing. Half Life is a first person shooter game. It uses the same engine that was used to create the Quake games. This is brilliant because the Quake engine is one of the best engines for creating FPS games with. It has the best movement and controls and more realistic effects.
