Advantages: compulsive game play

Disadvantages: You have to be willing to play over a long period of time

The game has been around for a while now, but it has to be one of my all time favourites.

You begin with a small domain with limited resources and a small industrial base.

You have to get roads built to bring in resources and food to your capital. There isn't really enough in your kingdom to enable any really serios expansion of your industrial base or your merchant marine, so you have to cast an envious eye towards your smaller neighbours and plot some military expansion very early on.

You can invade minor neighbouring powers with your small army pretty much straight away, but if you mess with the big boys you will get whipped at this stage.

Once you have expanded your kingdom and grabbed as much as you can you must develop it sot that you have plenty of food and raw materials coming in.

It is vital to build up your industrial base so that you can produce armaments.

You can expand your merchant fleet so that you can import shortage items and export surplasses.

Pay attention to the food levels and make sure you build huge astockpiles as you will need them all later when you have a large army.

Diplomacy features big in this game and you will need to consider who you are going to make alliances with. Make the wrong move and the whole world will gang up on you.

as time goes on and your army and navy grow in power you can begin to look at conquering some of the major players, be aware though that as you begin to flatten the French say, there will be lots of opportunists hanging around to cut a slice out of the French territory that you have sacrificed everything for.

This is an engrossing game which has given many hours of fun, and which is still good to go back to occasionally

Welcome to DooYoo. Sorry for the low rating, but you really aren't writing enough! Have a read around and see the sort of detail and effort other people are putting in.

You are also in danger of appearing to be a 'churner' - someone who bashes out loads of low quality opinions in the hope of making a quick buck. It doesn't work. One decent, well-written opinion that people think highly of will get you a lot more reads. If people think you're a churner, they won't bother with you. Have a read of the tips for newbies section for more info, and don't forget to read around and rate other people in general - they will be more inclined to return the favour. Have fun!
