Advantages: Great soccer management game
Disadvantages: Could include things such as a club shop or a stadium design option
I have owned LMA Manager for about half a year now and am still perfecting my technigues on management. In my opinion, this is the best Management game on the Playstation and fares well ahead of games such as Premier Manager and Player Manager. It is often a lot more satisfying to complete a season when you have done it on your own merit. By this I mean that you do not start off with a large club with plenty of money and a large ground, or cheat. Instead, start off with a low division team with little cash and a crap stadium. It is however still possible to achieve success if you know what to do: 1. Firstly, put all the really bad players up for sale (players with about 2 or 3 blocks next to them for their rating) This will earn you some cash. If you look at the top right of the screen, you will notice a football pitch with blue shading on it. Try and purchase players for areas of which you need to cover, such as the left wing and central defence. Playing players out of position will only make you lose matches. 2. Look on the transfer market for out of contract players. If they are good, for your division (4-5 blocks in Division 3) then try and get them. Whatever their wages are, add a bit more on and give them a good bonus to come. Though the wages may be a bit above the average of your team, you didn't pay for the player and it will pay off in the long run. 3. Hire good staff, preferably ones with about 4-5 stars. Particularly a good team coach, as they will select good training schedules, which will mean your players rating will increase over time. A good Physio is essential as well, as it means players will heal better. A good commercial manager means that you will get the best sponsorship deals and therefore more money. Hopefully now, after trawling through the transfer market you will have obtained a few good players, and also have a bit of money in the bank. Try not to spend this money too soon, as it
will come in handy in the middle of the season when you realise your weak positions on the field and need more cover. Tactics are quite hard to master. As it is only a game, tactics often don't matter as players don't respond how you want them to and it can get quite frustrating watching them lose game after game. The best tactics I suggest are countr attack and direct, as it means your team should wait for an opportunity to attack before they do, so there aren't wasted opportunities. I suggest a 4-4-2 formation, and select the style as normal. Also select the tackling option as normal, as aggresive will lead to sendings off (though looking at what the referee's vision and harshness is will help you make that decision) Select a suitable captin as well - I suggest a good midfielder. Select all the shooting distances as near, as then you won't find long distance hopers who waste shots. You should now have a good side with good tactics. As you play the game more you will get an understanding of how it works. This is a good game, and I would reccomend it to anyone who is thinking about buying a management game. Oh, and for the cheaters, heres some tips: (enter these in the name menu. If it works, you will hear a crowds cheer) King Midas - £500m in bank North and South - any player joins club Quick dry cement - stadium built in a day Witch Doctor - quicker healing Wet Wet Wet - rainy weather Dr Dry Dry - sunny weather Backseat Manager - subsequent game is planned for you Ivor Invincible - win all games
