Medal of Honour Underground is the second game in the Medal of Honour series for the Playstation. Both games see you taking the role of an ally during the war, and infiltrating enemy lines to undermine the German War effort. Requiring a little luck, and a lot of skill, it’s you against seemingly the entire German Army, so you’ll need to have your wits around you. You play the part of a female French Resistance leader, who joins the Secret Service in order to try and thwart the German War effort. The first game was magnificent, so this one had a lot to live up to, and it lives up to the standard set and surpasses them. A bit of background first ... Read the complete review

Why are all the games I write about good games? Is it because I never play crap ones or are my standards too low? Anywho, back to MoHU. Not many first-person-shooters make it on the PlayStation, but after the sucess of the first Medal of Honour, this game could do noting but succeed. This game is set a little before the first game (cos prequels are hip after Phantom Menace)and you play manon, the French resistance girl who helps Jimmy Patterson in the first outing. Thhis game takes what MoH had and makes it even better. The graphics aren't much better, seeing as it was released just a few short months after the first, but the sound and animations ... You Play the part of “Manon”, (who, unusually in first-person-shooter games is a woman) who is in the French resistance in the time of the World War 2. You are initially helping your contact from the first game (who you played as) “Jimmy Patterson”. The aim of the game is pretty much kill all the Nazis and make sure you complete all your missions given to you. You are given such things to do as Blow up tanks, Eliminate German weapons and retrieve explosive devices from the Germans. These are structured, and you have a list of things to do on each level, and when you have done them all, you can progress to the next level. The amount of ... Read the complete review

This is pretty much what I've been waiting for all my life. A chance to go and strike a blow against the godless Hun and his French collaborator friends. The graphics and sound are pretty much as you'd expect on a Playstation, but to be honest I'm not really too bothered that the people don't look terribly realistic when you get close to them. It's one of the most compelling games I've ever played, and these little details don't detract from the over all experience. I've never seen the original, so I don't know how much of this version is new. My favourite thing about this game is that it borrows elements from all my favourite war movies in ... Before "Medal of Honour: Underground" came along, I had yet to find the Playstation game that really did it for me. However, having experienced "Medal"'s fascinating, detailed gameplay I can safely say that this is what I have waited for. First of all, the game has an unbeatable scenario - fighting the Nazis. Morally, this is a very dubious exercise, and I doubt war veterans would be at all impressed. The sheer enjoyment involved, however, makes it hard to sustain such doubts. This is a shoot-em-up with a context, that draws you right in. The range of levels is excellent. From Paris catacombs and occupied French villages the young ... Read the complete review
