Advantages: Graphics, Gameplay, Missions, Multi-player mode it excellent
Disadvantages: Possibly a little difficult for the newer gamer.
You Play the part of “Manon”, (who, unusually in first-person-shooter games is a woman) who is in the French resistance in the time of the World War 2. You are initially helping your contact from the first game (who you played as) “Jimmy Patterson”. The aim of the game is pretty much kill all the Nazis and make sure you complete all your missions given to you. You are given such things to do as Blow up tanks, Eliminate German weapons and retrieve explosive devices from the Germans. These are structured, and you have a list of things to do on each level, and when you have done them all, you can progress to the next level. The amount of enemies killed decides what rank you get. You get an “excellent” for all enemies killed, and good for lower amounts etc. If you have a good enough ranking on each level in a mission (each mission contains about 5 levels), you will get a medal – thus the game title, as well as unlocking more items and people to play as in multi-player mode. The graphics are really good for the ageing Playstation, with probably the best first-person-shooter graphics that the PSX has, apart from Quake2, which I believe it is on a par with. The graphics seem to be tidied up a little from the original MOH, and better animation and realisation of enemies. Story-line wise you are always given updates on what is happening, so you know what you are doing and got to do next. The story on this game is stronger than on most first-person-shooters, because there was a French Resistance in real life, so they have a real story to built upon, and it is done well too. There are such a large amount of weapons available; from the obligatory machine guns, pistols and grenades, to Rocket launchers and German Explosive sticks, which are probably the most fun weapon from the first game, as you throw them at something, and blow-up as soon as they hit (i.e. very useful in multi-player), as well as bei
ng very destructive. That’s another plus-point too, the multi-player mode, where you can have split-screen action against your mates in a death-match type of environment, where you have 4 different weapons from the start (you pick what assortment before you play), and you find the ammo lying on the floor, along with health. The mulitplayer levels seem well designed, with open-sided lifts, hidden rooms and vantage positions, which you can shoot from. There main thing about this is, that it is just FUN!. This game overall, builds upon the original, by adding more weapons, more levels, better graphics and more involving levels + missions. BUY IT!, you won’t be disappointed.
