Disadvantages: hard, without, joystick of steering wheel

Racing car games have been done to death. Storming through towns, running from law and into zombies have all been done, so THQ has introduced lorry racing to freshen things up. There isn’t as ridiculous as it sounds. A bona-fide racing series actually exists, dedicated to these lumbering leviathans but they don’t come laden with half-hundred weight of mackerel or 12,000 pairs of sandals. With no cargo, stripped down bodywork and pumped-up engines, they become giant bumper cars. Before you get started, be aware that controlling a wayward juggernaut is tough, so a steering wheel or joypad is essential for good fun. Puling out of the pits for the first time , it feels like someone forgot to pump the tyres up. Fail to break on the most innocuous of bends and you’ll find yourself sliding into the sand. While racing, a gentle lean on a rival trucks will help you stay on the track in those frantic early laps.
The racetrack are beautifully detailed. Locking up all 10 wheels on the approach to a tight corner not only leaves impressive rubber trails on the tarmac that remains for the rest of the race but also emits a bellow of smoke that drift and disperses realistically. The truck look fantastic too-damage does show up when you smash your truck into a fence at high speed but not on the scale you’d expect. A flapping front panel and wonky bumper are the extent of recognisable damage, despite some life-threatening crashes.
It’s hard to make racing games sound exciting but the lorry whistles and chungs help set the scene. Other than that, it’s the standard driving sequals, bangs and de rigueur cheesy rock soundtracks all round

Wrong place again. You can have your 5p, but even though it probably doesn't matter from your review, this isn't useful to a playstation owner. See my comment on your Serious Sam op for what to do. Ben
