This is a hidden gem! Has much more features if the user is imaginative!
I have hooked it up to my mixer and used it for making backing tracks and all!

Music 2000 is a brilliant game that allows you to make your own songs on your Playstation. It is a good upgrade from Music as you can now take samples from your own CDs and put them in your own Music 2000 songs. The bad thing about this option is that I've had the game for about a year now and I've still not worked out how to do it! Never mind, the rest of the game is superb. You have a screen with a large grid on it and you choose sounds from the different categories. These are House, Techno, Drum 'n' bass, Hip-hop, rock and Indie. There are thousands of samples you can use, and you can make your own with the riff editor. The songs are easy to ... Read the complete review

Introduction -------------------- Many of you would have wanted to make music a some time in your life, whether you had thought long and hard about it, brought a mixer and a set of decks or just simply started to tap a beat on the edge of a table. Now technology offers us an easy way to make music, through computer samplers and music 2000 does just that. You may have seen loads upon loads of computer music generation software (the most popular being dance ejay for the PC) However if you can't get hold of a pc you may have seen this little package on the shelves, Music 2000. This is basically a music creator. Music creator??? how the ... Read the complete review

Music 2000 - PSX The PSX's most famous music-making 'package' returns and - if you'll forgive the old reviewer's cliché - the best has indeed just got better. This is 'Music' plus most of the bits that should have been in the original minus a lot of the gripes and niggles. Once again, it focuses on the building of dance-related choons via the brainless selection and arrangement of preset musical riffs. The look of the system has improved, eliminating the toy-like chunkiness in favour of visuals clearly modelled on professional sequencers. Hi-res graphics mean that much more can now be crammed on screen - just the job ... Read the complete review

Well, when you first load up this game you see a couple of icons at the top and a lot of blue squares - pretty confusing. But when you take in mind that this is where you put your music, which is loadedup by L1 a lot of things become clear. Basically you combine a few of the 3,500+ riffs or some homebrew samples you can make into riffs, and you put them in any order you want. Try to make it sound good. You can chooose between Rock, House, Trance, Beat and Drum + Bass. These all provide a very good genre usage and will in the end give you a very good song. Essential. Really. Another thing to do is (once you have finished the song) is to create ... Read the complete review
