Advantages: Arcade style kept with additions, excellent graphics, arcade gaming

Disadvantages: Some levels tedious, some level variations pointless

I saw this video games programme the other day and it had the original version of 'Pong' from the 1970's and I just had to have a go on it. It looked top (I know, very sad.) So I went on a rampage of the town and found it for the playstation for a bargain price of £9.99.
The first few levels are the basic 'Pong' idea, and then the later levels progress. The general idea is carried throughout but obsticals are added such as wind and water. To be very honest, I think it spoils the game slightly, but it is a nice addition. The new Pong has much improved graphics from the 70's original (obviously) with each level being on different moving scenery. It's surprisingly colourful. Yes, I'll admit that 'Pong' appears like a kids game, but when you start playing you realise its for all ages. It is so addictive.
The game is different from the original as power ups can be collected to make you hit the balls faster, which makes gameplay faster. The 'Pong' pieces are animated too, which make them more like characters.
There are several zones, each with many levels, and many different versions of the levels within them. Each level is different from the other, with slightly different rules and gameplay.
The game is well worth the £10 I paid, would be worth a lot more. Is better than the poor reviews it got. A good rehash of an arcade classic. A must for every gamer!
