Advantages: Play as your own team, Build a squad, Manage all aspects
Disadvantages: Bit clunky, Hard to sign players
The first thing that strikes you with this game is its similarity to the Championship Manager series on the PC. The function is the same, but it suffers in comparison to the PC game due to the lack of versatility of the playstation on simulator-type games. The area it suffers most is navigating around the screen, and the search for players function - the search parameters are basic in comparison and buying a single player can take quite a while. Also there can sometimes be some confusion as to who has scored the goals during the game - your bidiprinter will say one person, but the game summary will say a different one. However, despite its shortcomings it can be quite an addictive game. Once you start to establish yourself and build your own squad it becomes like a personal project. I had built a Leeds team including the regular star players, but added the likes of Dino Baggio, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Seth Johnson, Robbie Keane (which both turned out to be prophetic signings) & John Carew. The only problem I had was trimming my squad and wage bill to accomodate my new signings, the younger players wouldn't leave to go play in Divs 1 & 2 and others like Radebe and Batty were too old, even if you drop their values to virtually nothing no-one wanted them. If you let yourself, this is the sort of game you can get really engrossed in, but eventually you might get bored and decide to hop on your PC and load up Championship Mgr and play the real thing.
