Ray Tracers was another racing game for the PSX which was brought out at a budget price, in fact you can pick this up in any game store or on ebay second half for just a few pounds now. I gave it a bash after picking it up cheap and to be honest it's not the best. Although it's a quick and simple racing game ,it does very little to set it apart from other racers.

Graphics - The cars themsleves look pretty good however it's the tracks that let this game down with a very blocky unrealistic look. Id say 4 out of 10

Gameplay - It's fast enough, and thats something I look for in a simple racer but at the same time you need a balance of control which this doesn't really have, 6 out of 10

Sound - Generic Rock Midi's run through each race, a little annoying but as PSX games go it's not that bad , 5 out of 10

Longevity - Well there is a Championship mode which you can play thorugh and the multiplayer element could keep you going for a while but once you've tried all cars and races there's not much to go back for, 4 out of 10

Overall - It's a very basic racing game ,not that many cars or tracks to choose from and even the ones they have aren't that different from each other, with so many racing games out there , theres not much reason to get this. 4 out of 10
