You wake up in a dark alleyway beside a blazing helicopter explosion. Your head throbs with the effort to try and remember who you are and how you ended up in this vaguely familiar world. Your hand holds a trusty pistol with plenty of ammo and all around you are vast amounts of undead zombies, giant spiders, demon dogs and other such like just waiting to naw at fresh human flesh. Sound scary? Well, it should be! The game is similar to those of other resident evil games with the exception that the game is played in a first-person perspective and the gaming style is in the style of "House of the dead". This time, however, you control where you want to go ... Read the complete review

Hot on the heals of Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis comes what was billed as the next step in resident evil gaming, Resident Evil - Survivor. On the outside this game bears all the hallmark trates of the series; zombie death, huge enimies, challenging puzzles and a difficulty level unsupassed by games in its janura. And then you actually play it. Instantly you will notice the horrible low-resloution graphics caused by the 3D enviroment, and lazy programmers. There are polygon jaggies everywhere. Many as bad as some of the first way of original Playstation games back in 1994. From the outset you know that the 3D doom esq perspective is used as nothing ... Read the complete review

I cannot believe that Capcom have screwed up one of the best oppurtunities ever. This is easily one of the worst games that they have ever made. I had always wanted to play Resident Evil in first person and now here was my chance but...... The idea behind the game is great. Instead of an on the rails shooter like Time Crisis and The House of The Dead the guncon is used to control your characters movement as well as for blasting zombies to pieces. This main problem is that the idea has been executed so badly. Movement is incredibly hard. Holding the trigger makes you walk forward, the B button makes you turn in a direction, double tapping the trigger ... Read the complete review

Only for Dooyoo would I revisit this mess which for me tainted the Resident Evil brand for good. Fair enough it's a departure from the tried and tested format, and I'm all for originality, but in this case the addage must be "if it aint broke don't fix it". Instead of the usual RPG format the game is a Doom style first person shooter. You play the part of an amnesia sufferer who wakes up in the ubiquitis zombie infested town. You begin with a handgun and can pick up other weapons such as a shotgun, magnum etc-basically your usual RE arsenal. The mission is basically to shoot zombies and other nasties and to discover your true identity-will you be good or ... I went straight out and bought Resident Evil Survivor because I like Resident Evil 2 and 3 so much. I have to say I was disappointed with the game. Although it is still quite a good game, and the storyline is quite good, I was expecting more puzzles like with earlier games. In this game the hardest puzzle was to take a key from a clock and put it into another clock. That doesn't do justice to the high quality or survival horror games Capcom have given us. Another thing about this game I really don't like about this game is that you can't save your game. The only saving you do is saving your weapons and items after you complete the game, to use if you ... Read the complete review
