Racoon City…a place that all gamers should be familiar with considering it is the home of Resident Evil games, a series that has graced the PSONE, Sega Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, PC, PS2, and now finally the Nintendo GameCube. For those who are unfamiliar with Resident Evil, where have you been? This is arguably the best series on any console, and the best game was without a doubt the original. Now however there is going to be a Resident Evil, even bigger, and even better than the Resident Evil we knew in 1996 for Capcom have decided to revisit the old classic that is Resident Evil, re-vamp it and make it all over again with more areas, zombies with higher artificial ... Raccoon City, the site of a sinister experiment gone terribly wrong, a sprawling urban death trap of unremitting horror. But, all this is yet to come, for now We are lost in the heart of an ancient wood, indifferent to the pain and suffering of man and the twisted abominations that dwell within....The House. Resident Evil begins with a team of SWAT members following a trail to locate and rescue the team previously sent to investigate a classified 'incident' at an old mansion deep in the woodlands of outer Raccoon City. As the player we are limited in what we know, we know as much (or as little) as the characters on screen. It soon ... Read the complete review

As we look upon the recently-released Resident Evil 5, one considers the origins of the great series, beginning with Capcom's audacious inception of the series in 1996 with Resident Evil. Given the choice of playing as either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, players, as part of special team S.T.A.R.S., had to weave their way through a dangerous mansion, full of unknown dangers scattered throughout like a Haunted House from Hell. Hence the term "survival horror" was born: players had to evade undead creatures, biologically engineered nasties, and many more grotesqueries. What differentiates Resident Evil from the horror titles that preceded it is the ... Read the complete review

The first Gamecube Resident Evil game is a complete remake of the original Resident Evil, whilst new games are in development (Resident Evil 0 and 4) this re-release will show you what this games will be like fear wise. After a week of slaving away at the game I have finally left the mansion for good, which enables me to tell you what I thought. Now the main point that has to be made is that Resident Evil is a scary game, not necessarily due to the monsters or the spooky locations but the fear of not knowing what happens next. Now this game is exactly what Nintendo need to show off the Gamecube, incredible audio, breath taking graphics and a really mature title on a ... Read the complete review

Titanic – an epic, tragic love story that was hailed by many as one of the greatest movies ever made. It scooped enough Oscars to keep James Cameron and 20th Century Fox in paperweights for years and sailed to the top of the Highest Grossing Films Of All Time list with box office takings that could have cancelled half the Third World’s debt. And yet, despite the phenomenal success of Titanic, 1998’s biggest-earning entertainment thing was not a film. It was a videogame. A videogame called Resident Evil 2. If that piece of trivia didn’t make you gasp you’re either comatose, dead, living on the Moon, completely apathetic to ... Read the complete review
