In my oppinion Resident Evil is an amazing game! It was designed by capcom and was released in 1996. In japan it is also know as biohazard. It was the first ever game to be known as a survival horror.

The game starts as a live video (the only live video in the resident evil series.) The STARS alpha team is called out when they lose contact with the bravo team. They go out to investigate, when they are chased in an abandened mansion by crazy dogs. Once in the mansion the the game goes to the games graphics, and they end up splitting up in the mansion, being filled with traps and puzzles. But little do they know there in a mansion that was used for illigal experiments that has now created monsters..will you make it out of there alive?

You can play as either two characters, Jill valentine and Chris Redfield. There both different scenario's and jill is easier than chrises. Your character is traveling around the mansion and you have to face certain puzzles and monsters, collecting different items and guns to help you along the way. You are constantly playing the game in certain camera angles and who can forget the scences when your going through the doors and up and down the stairs?

The only difference with the original game and the directors cut is that, it has the option of changing certain camera angles, different items and enemy placements and also a more pwerful handgun. The directors cut was released in 1997 just 18 months after the first. This was due to the delay to resident evil 2.

I've only been able to play this game just recently, as i always panicked when i was younger when the zombies were coming at me, so i watched my mum complete it about 5 times. However i dont know why as the game is quite simple to play though some of the puzzles can be quite confusing. This game can have you entertained for hours, and if playing ont he big screen and in surround sound, quite scared and jumpy as well!

Summary: good game!!
