Rollcage is an intense driving game, unlike any you've ever experienced before. It combines weapons (a la Twisted Metals), with intense racing (a la Gran Turismo) for a truly dizzying ride. Unlike the Twisted Metal series, your weapons do not kill other opponents, rather they are used to slow them down or speed you up. Although the graphics are sufficient, they do not come close to Gran Turismo or Driver. The graphics are similar to the Need For Speed series. One of the hardest things to get used to is the unique feature of racing upside down, or right side up. The cars in Rollcage have large tires, and therefore can be flipped over and still drive with ... Read the complete review

If you liked wipeout, the Rollcage-2 will be perfect for you. Starting with the Hi-res graphics and endless playing modes, this game will take ages to complete. Having played the original rollcage, this one is MUCH BETTER, with very challenging tracks and game play, without toooo many annoying crashes against the walls and doing endless 360's to get straight again..! The difficulty level is just right and the many weaponns will leave nothing left to desire about. Let me tell you this is not just a racer... its got so many other little options that make the game much bette than any other racer going. this and Crash Team reacing are probably the best ... People like rollcage to wipeout, although in my eyes it is nothing like wipeout. Rollcage puts you in the driving seat of a vehicle that looks a lot like a tyco rebound remote control car. The idea is that you race against opponents in a car that is indestructable, trying to get your oppenents behind you, and thus crossing the finish line first. People have complained about the controls in rollcage, and I do admit that they are a little weak. But realistly, if you were driving at 200 mph and you flicked the steering wheel, the last thing that you'd want to happen is to veer straight off the road. In rollcage 2 the controls have been tweaked ... Read the complete review

I have this game on the PC, it was only £4.99 from HMV!!! It's a brilliant game in most respects, but the annoying thing when you crash is that you end up going flying all over the place, and it's impossible (almost) to get yourself back on track and facing in the right direction. I'd like to play the sequel, Rollcage Stage 2 to see if this has been improved in any way.The graphics and sound are excellent, but be warned, you need a fairly good PC to run it on (mine runs smoothly, but a little slow, an my Cyrix M2-300MHz with 32MB TNT2 3D Card and 64MB RAM). This could have been great. You race around (Wipeout style) in a big fast car, shooting weapons at the others in the race, and (F-Zero X style) you can even drive on the ceiling, along the sides of walls and so on. The graphics and sound are great. It's let down though by the fact that it's far too easy to crash. The game races along at a great speed, which is commendable, but it's far too easy to crash, and then - INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATINGLY - be facing the wrong way down the track, and essentially out of the race. Races become a lottery rather than any true test of skill, which makes the game pointless. An opportunity missed. Read the complete review
