Advantages: The Race games are okay, the baby talk just like in the cartoon

Disadvantages: Too many below - average mini - games

Graphically, the game's no real step forward from 'Rugrats - Search For Reptar', so it's not great to look at, and the studio sets as hub to the mini-games seem a step backwards - plenty of props but nothing really to play with (not even just toys for throwing). As for the audio, some of the music is the same old, and whilst the baby talk (malapropisms - check!) is still funny, the commentary still isn't.

The need for the target-cursor interface for the opening of the door with the keys was not necessary and is an insult to the intelligence of any gamer. Of the mini-games, the golfing has taken a fall from being favourite. Having six-for-par holes might not seem OTT for crazy golf, but with a realistic format in place instead of requiring the player be at least on par at each hole to progress to the next, the risk/reward is raised, and possibly beyond the reaches of some of it's supposed target audience. Similarly, though of smaller significance, the bonus rounds in the shooting galleries, 'Lazy Beam' and 'Milk Beam' do ask for some really quick reaction times - is it me or how come the analogue stick does not give as quick a control as the directional pad?

The Speedway/Desert/Bayou Race make for average racing and are about the best of the bad bunch; 'Frog Race' shows that racing on feet is not as fun as in racecars (and the key to winning this is in it's title); the majority of the remainder are hindered, if not ruined by the camera - auto-mapping can only help somewhat. Then there's no reversing the vehicle in 'Loonie Lander'. Last, but not least, if 'Zero Gees' and 'Okey Dokey Jones' remind you of Crash Bandicoot - wait until you see the final scene. Yes it's a rip-off because they are rubbish.

Take two! Hours to complete Rugrats - Studio Tour, roughly. Up to four players can compete in these mini-games - a mix of simultaneous split-screen and taking turns. But at best these mini-games are average, with many being a case in study as to how 3D games can suck. So LIGHTS? No, not with these graphics. CAMERA? Clumsy, along with the controls. ACTION? Fails to make the cut. CUT!

My take.
