Advantages: Bombs Fun . Big Robots Bad

Disadvantages: A bit short

Visualise if you can , Bomberman on the old SNES and Mega Drive (or Genesis depending).
You set down bombs so that they blow up to destroy enemies in a tactical manner one way or another. Thats basically the thinking behind Silent Bomber . You set down bombs , you blow them up , you get points , advance on and blow up more enemies , structures etc.. until you meet an end-of-level boss of a kind who is beaten in one way or another by tactical postioning of the bombs.

This may sound simple but Silent Bomber is so much more. This game never stops it just keeps blowing up and enemies keep on firing in from each and every direction (with no visual slowdown might i add) with every intent on ending your game as soon as possible. The explosions are fantastic and the feel of the game is brilliant, guiding your run of the mill silent -but- strong quiet type character , Jutah Fate who is nothing more than a killing machine now intent on setting bombs beside the flashy looking objects . Thats the fun part though.
You set the bombs , run like hell , detonate them , laugh , come back and view your destruction. And with the pumping soundtrack to add to it , it heightens this emotion further.

Though the game is short (14 levels) it takes a while to complete as the game is very difficult in certain sections , level 11 's boss and the final boss are pretty damn difficult indeed so there is not a shortage on challenge . But once you've gona and completed the game theres the "Advanced Mode" to play . That means going back to all the previous levels and blowing up things as hard as you can to get huge chain scores of points to get the highest ranking possible (F -> A then S). Doing so earns you bonuses in the sub game "VR" Arena which you can either play against the computer or with a friend and play as one of the many characters robots or beasties to blast the crap out of with each other (Robots with oversized guns anyone?). The V
R Arena is ridiculously hectic even if you are playing against the computer , though it has a tendency to be a bit dumb at times when controlling the characters.

This game is a typical arcade blow em up but with that special something , it could 've been better with more levels and more features after completing the game , but thats for Silent Bomber 2 to deal with
Speaking of the name "Silent"? . Never played a more noisy game in my life!
