I think not, this is one of those golden games in my humble opinion and if you'll give just a few minuets I will explain why! This was originally released along side the Dreamcast as one of its maiden games. But to be honest this game is better on the PS1. Just something about the game play and the fact the machine doesn't sound like it going to take off every time it loads. Oh, and it doesn't so flipping long to reload on the PS1. (And the Dreamcast is a bit pants, anyway) So why is Soulblade different to the others? Well, one main reason: You get to fight with weapons. (Ah joy) As in, there are no punches to be thrown in this game, maybe ... Read the complete review

Soul blade also known as Soul edge in Japan and was developed and published by Namco and released in 1996. The first game from the Soul series, Soul blade is a fast paced fighting game. It is one to two players and rated a 15+. Coming from the same makers as Tekken it has the same feel to it yet more unique as in weapons and battle conditions. Soul blade comes in two main game modes Story (edge master) and arcade, but you do also have practice, team battle, Vs, Survival, Time attack and weapon room where you visit to see what weapons you have obtained in edge master mode. Story mode: Soul Blade's events take place in 1584. The story is of warriors searching for the ... Read the complete review

Released in 1995-1996 this game is still playable even now. Arcade giants NAMCO worked with Sony to produce this brilliant beat em up . There are 10 characters initially to choose from , but several more are unlocked by playing the various features of the game , including the highly ejoyable but sometimes infuriating "Edge Master Mode". With this part of the game you play as any of the original characters and journey across the globe to find the soul edge (what the game is based around is this incredibly powerful but evil sword that corrupts all who use ti) , but along the way you encounter other characters and beat them up thus earning you a new weapon ... So you are reviewing a beat-em up now are you? Yes I am. Well a slash-em up maybe a better description. It’s very intense, and very addictive. So lot’s of fighting/repeat then? Not exactly no – see this game does have a story behind it. OK sit back, grab a drink and listen up. Soul Blade is a legendary sword. This group of renegade fighters come together to compete for this weapon, including a pirate "Cervantes de Leon", who is said to have actually obtained it. You take the role of one of the fighters in a battle you will never forget…. Is that it? Yeah that’s about it. But if ... Read the complete review

This was one of the first PS games I played on, my friend owns it. I think Soulblade is an excelllent game with good characters, fantastic move, relatively easy playing except some special moves, and good graphics & sound. I also like the ways you can fall out of the ruing, from falling into water to falling of a cliff. As well as the normal arcade mode and versus mode, there is also survival mode where you fight random opponents and the game is over when you lose. You then get a score of how many opponents you defeated. Another good mode is Edgemaster mode. You walk across a map Mario-style and have to do different tasks such as defeating an invincible man by ... Read the complete review
