As Great As The Cartoon (South Park Rally (PS))

This cartoon series that has been around for years was turned into a rally game around a few years back on the Playstation and for other consoles. The cartoon itself was a hit but was the game? Lets find out.

The characters in this game are the usual four but with only another four to choose from. Makeing this only eight in total. However new characters are awarded every time you win a race in championship mode. The characters are Stan, Cartman, Kyle and Kenny which are the obvious ones and also Wendy, Chef, Officer Barbrady and uncle Jimbo. I myself think that their should have been a few more characters to choose from and also dont agree with uncle Jimbo. He is hardly seen in the cartoon and some one like Mr Garrison would have been a better choice. Never the less with just haveing the four main guys makes this game great.

Now its time to pick your race. There are three game types to choose in this game. However if you choose championship mode you obviously dont get to pick your track. The idea of the game is to race around the track, depending on which race you are in you either have to race around 4 checkpoints, or you may be asked to pick up or drop off items at certain checkpoints within the game. You have to listen to Cartman`s mother as she will tell you what you have to do before the race starts. Then once you have completed your objective the first one across the finish line wins.

Remember how i said there were three game types to choose. Well here they are. The first is arcade mode which when you win the race with your chosen player, you are rewarded a new track. The more times you win the more tracks you gain. The second game is battle mode where you and your opponents race around the track fireing weapons at each other. You have 4 lives and when you lose every one you are basickly killed. The last being championship mode which again is just a bunch of tracks which you race around and try to win. Every time you win like i sai
d you are rewarded new tracks and new players including Mr Garrison :)

Overall a very exciting and great game. The graphics are good with them looking 3D like but i suppose could have done with a bit of improving there. The sounds are excellent with all the usual qoutes from the guys including a lot of swearing words. Which i must point out this game may not be suitable for the younger people out there. As for gameplay this again is excellent. Just like Mario Kart this is a game you will never want to stop playing.

A lot of people i know dont like this game. However i do. Like i said the graphics arent on the great side but its fun raceing against and beating up your opponents. You will be able to pick this game up for cheap nowadys and i would say its worth the money.
