Actua Soccer (PS) ... 32 national teams; Actua Soccer is said to be the first football title with a 3D graphics engine in full flow, so instead of sprites there are polygonal players on the pitch. Players were not detailed to differentiate, but Gremlin had the balls to use motion capture technology (see what I did there), as shown in the video in this game, and the animation turned out rather well. Screens are situated in the stadiums; pitches differed by their stripes. The crowd are inanimate though, and the ball does not always follow through as it should. WWF Smackdown (PS) ... game was the one that changed the way wrestling games are made for ever. The frist game that had a realy proper story line to it which is still fun to play now (i played it last week) the graphics dont hold up to todays high standards on wrestling games however the game itself is still cool.The ranking system in which they use i realy wish they would use on modern games as it is one of my favs from the smackdown games.Before this game we wasnt sued to story lines and all the great caracters that are in the games now. A real turning point in games with this one and this defo a game that earns high ratings.Could you play it nowadays only if you havnt got a modern compu... Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (PS) ... i had to choose the best of the Tony Hawk video games this would be it, it has the best locations, it has the best feeling in the gameplay and it was the first one to introduce the manual. I always enjoy playing through the career in tony hawks games and this was by no means an exception. You basically go from rookie to pro but in a very subtle and very performance enhancing way. The challenges are all set to a perfect standards as to gradually improve the quality of your gaming ability and this is one of the only ones that it is noticable in because by the time you get the third game you are already amazing at this game and dont improve anymore at all.
