Advantages: Easy for people of all ages to play

Disadvantages: -

Spyro the Dragon was probably the first game I ever completed! It was the first game I properly played as well, and probably what set off my addiction to platform games.

The Story:
Gnasty Gnorc comes back seeking revenge for being banished from the dragon world. He turns all the dragons into statues but misses Spyro because he is so small. Spyro's adventure begins and he has to travel through the 5 dragon worlds (Artisans, Peace Keepers, Magic Crafters, Beast Makers and Dream Weaver) with his friend Sparx the dragonfly, to save the dragons and reclaim all their treasures.

The Gameplay:
Simple and fun! There are no complicated button combinations and each controller button has one function. Sparx is an indication of your health and you can flame/charge sheep and other small animals in order to rebuild your health.

Each world you travel through as Spyro is made up of various different levels, each one challenging in it's own unique way. Each world has a Boss level, and also a flying level. Spyro can't fly on his own in the game so these flying levels are a fun distraction. The aim is to complete all of the tasks while you are flying but there is also a time trial level and it's definitely a challenge to find the quickest way to flame the enemies and fly through the rings!

Spyro is a very easy game to complete but takes a little longer if you want the full 100%. To this day I think there is still one dragon I just can't get to - I can hear him, but I can't see him!

It's a really great game that has definitely stood the test of time with beautiful imaginitive worlds and sceneries, and now I've written this review I feel inspired to get under the bed and dig it out, I can't wait to play it again!

Summary: A lovely fun game
