Send in 50 scouts, and they're no longer going to destroy the entire base. In fact, they're going to be entirely destroyed without the enemy being scratched, at all. The game feels overall more balanced, and the missions are fun and not too hard/easy. The weapons have been evened out, and larger ships can easily destroy smaller ships, unlikely before, where...more

Yes, this game surely improves over its predecessor, in ways more then one. 1.) Graphics: wow, these have improved amazingly! No more jagged edges, explosions looking like the ships just shattered, and the amount of space eye candy improved. Zooming in to ships reveals detailed textures and lighting, with windows lit up, and as your ships are hit with phasers and torpedoes, you see the lighting flicker, and large holes open up in the hull, revealing the internal structure of the ship. 2.) Gameplay: Before, a few scouts could entirely wipe out a base, but now, things are balanced. Send in 50 scouts, and they're no longer going to destroy the entire ...  Read the complete review

This review is a long time coming. The first time I bought this game my girlfriend "accidently" stepped on the disk and broke it. She hates when I play my games and tune her out. She would prefer that I sit there quietly staring at the tube watching MTV with her, which I hate. So here we are me playing my star trek game on my laptop sitting next to her as she watches replays of the "real" world all night. Well only one night a week. So after waiting a significant amount of time I managed to purchase the game again at a lower price then originally purchased. This game is your typical battle strategy game where you have to build up resources, ...  Read the complete review

Basically, I LOVE this game, it's a huge improvement over the original, is a lot more stable and smooth and the graphics are a lot better. If you've heard people complaing about this game, don't be drawn in, because a lot of the complaints are about that fact that it isn't the original, well, it isn't, its Armada 2. I've had many an enjoyable battle and the levels of difficulty in the game are varied, from being fairly easy to extremely hard with varouis tweak sliders for the AI along the way. For the Single Player Campaign, the levels for each of the campaigns reflect the races attributes, so, for exapmle, without giving to much detail ...  Read the complete review

Star Trek Armada II: Star Trek Armada but better. This game is actually one of the better Star Trek games out there. Once you watch the wikkid intro (which is split into two parts-The one that gives you the storyline and one with different battle sequences which is very cool) You are greeted with the main screen (all options if you hover the mouse over then have their own animations), the options are: Instant Action Campaign Multiplayer Options Replay intro Credits Exit All of these are self-explanatory, so it's easy to choose what to do. Let's start with Instant Action. You choose a map, a race (Klingon, ...  Read the complete review
