Advantages: reasonable graphics, frantic gameplay!

Disadvantages: can get a bit tiring - literally!

This is the official computer game for the olympics, which is in the same style as "track and field", in which you have to tap as quickly as possible alternate buttons to make your person: have more stamina, speed or stength as you are competing in your event.

There are 12 events in this game, ranging from the 100m sprint, javelin and triple jump to kayaking and cycling. Each is a mixture between tapping the buttons fast and timing another button press so that, for example your person will jump in the triple jump etc.

This game is great for multiplay, as up to eight people can compete against each other at the same time, which can be great fun if you are good at it, and want to show off, but bad if you're not competent at the game. Although to get eight player mode, you would need 2 multitaps and 8 controllers.

The graphics in this game look quite good, but nothing special. Also the sound is very good as there are the top BBC commentators included, which makes the game seem like you are really watching the Olympics.

The downsides to this game are that there are not as many track events as you anticipate. i.e there is no 200m or 400m sprint races. And loading times can be long if you simply want to restart the race, unlike track and field, where it is still in the memory and so you can restart almost instantly.

Overall this is a good game if you are even slightly into the Olympics, but if you are not bothered, then you would do better renting it out, rather than paying £30 for it.
