Disadvantages: Not innovative enough.

I always liked the Tekken series - it was much better than the Virtua Fighter series in my opinion.
However this 3rd installment of the series just isnt totally my cup of tea.
Heihachi's other son Jin is now the main character, with a new boss in the game too - Ogre. The FMV sequences are nothing short of great, but I just don't think enough has been done to refresh this title. Sure, the graphics have been revamped and a tonload of characters are available -by completing the game several times! Also new game modes have been introduced - Tekken Force (double dragon style) and Tekken Ball (volleyball).

However these new additons are just gimmicks that you probably wont spend too long playing - maybe only Tekken Force to get Doctor B selectable...
The new characters include GON - a popular dino character from Japan. I think he is the only innovation to the title! He is funny, and his fighting style is very original. Speaking of which - Eddie is also a very good addition - his breakdance style is very nice to see, although it can be abused for some cheap victories...!

Y'see thats the problem with Tekken - against the CPU, its always too easy -even on the highest difficulty settings, and since finding tough human opponents can be difficult, the game has limited home-replay value... You can literally demolish the CPU with a sequence of remembered moves...a very annoying aspect!

Graphics - nice - probably the best you'll see in a beat em up on the Playstation.
Sound - good enough for me.
Story - a bit tired now...just kill Heihachi and get a new story in! This old tale is getting tedious...
Controls - well easy! a button for each limb. How simple can you get?!

To conclude, Tekken 3 is a good game, but if you already own Tekken 2, you might be better off goin down the arcades to play this first. Not enough has been done to make the game "new". If you have never played Tekken, then by
all means purchase this!
I ow if you're reading this you'll think "he's hard to please"... well its true.. I am. I expect greatness in all games. Sadly, Teken 3 doesnt make much of an impact on me (aside from Gon - hes so funny!).

I hope Tekken 4 on the PS2 will be better!
