As a fan of the simpler, puzzle-type games on the playstation I have to say this is one of my favourites. I've had this version for the last 2 years now and I still haven't tired of it! One of the best features, I feel, is the ability to play the game with your own choice of background music - so whether you fancy chillin' with the Walrus of Love Barry White, or want to pumping dance music, it's totally up to you. Both one and two-player options are available, and there are 2 basic types of Tetris to choose from - Classic Tetris (it does what it says on the box), and The Next Tetris, which is similar to the original but with a few twists. ... Okay, "The Next Tetris" is not one of those high action, multi-level games that pushes your entire pc to the limit and then some. It is, on the surface, a very simple game - drop the sets of four blocks together and clear the rows (classic Tetris - included) or the new game here, clear rows which start off with a few brown blocks in place at ramdom intervals (which increase as you go along). Blocks of different shapes fall from the top of the screen and you have to move and rotate them to make them fit at the bottom. The idea is to fill the bottom of the screen with no gaps, when you have a full line it disappears. As the game progresses the blocks fall faster and it becomes increasingly difficult not to leave spaces. When the ... Read the complete review

This is the classic tetris game with a few added extras! I for one used to find the original highly addictive when I was younger, and this game kind of proves to me that nothing has changed. I first played this game at someone elses house, and both my boyfriend and I were playing it for literally hours. The game remains the same, but when you play against each other you can make the other person screen wobble, turn araoung or even go black depending on how many rows you make. The shapes are some times made of different colours, this means that they will drop into gaps below them...very handy! Perhaps the most unique thing about this ... Read the complete review
Products similar to The Next Tetris (PS)
Baby Felix Tennis (PS)
Prettily presented, solid (if unspectacular) graphics and gameplay, cheap
Nowhere near enough extras or modes, over very quickly, not enough depth
Rage Racer (PS)
Single player challenge, buying and upgrading cars, track design
Poor sound effects, unrealistic collisions, Time Attack mode
Persona: Revelations (PS)
Lots of cool ideas, communicating with foes, funny moments, superb music
Derivative dungeon design, story elements infrequent, erratic difficulty
Army Men World War Team Assault (PS)
CT Special Forces (PS)
not too expensive, enjoyable.
some parts too easy, others too hard.
