The world's favourite family has quite recently arrived on playstation. Loads of wrestling games have been released lately, the main competitor being WWF, packing loads of characters, action and fun into one CD, so any new arrivals of the genre have to be pretty good to be noticed. Quite obviously, the Simpsons' game trades seriousness for comedy, and succeeds well at this. Everyone loves the outrageous yet realistic family, so why not battle them out!? All the family are included as playable characters (Marge & Maggie work together), with the most popular also ready to battle it out in the ring. The characters all have individual moves relating to their personality, such as Krusty the Clown throwing custard pies and Homer smashing bowling balls on opponents. Mr Burns, Barney and Moe are a few of the other wrestlers in the game. The graphics of the game are good compared to the programme, but nothing exactly special. Characters wear the same clothes, and all possess their usual sayings and phrases, which are voiced by the actual 'actors' behind the programme. That's a bonus! There are loads of extra characters and many venues to fight in, such as in the town or outside the Simpson household. A great multiplayer mode is available too! In my opinion (which this is), the game lacks many qualities possessed by other games of this type, so you may be better off looking around, but if funny fighting comedy is what you prefer, I would recommend this. Unfortunately, the fun only lasted for about a week with me.
