Advantages: Cutsey little game. Nice idea.Good value
Disadvantages: Can get bankrupt easy. Might get boring after a while.
Ever wanted to try that rather large roller-coaster in Blackpool? Too scared? Theme Park is here to save the day. Bullfrog have made a great game 'Theme' Game only bettered by Theme Park World.
You start by purchasing a piece of land around the world, upon which it is your task to set up your own theme park. The idea is cunningly simple, but beneath Theme Park's sugary exterior lies an incredibly sophisticated game. This game isn't just a case of building a few rides for the kids, rather, you must juggle together a whole host of things, even coke stands, staff and where to put the toilets! And maybe make sure it's better than those of all your rivals.
In your park, it's the little people that are important. First rule of business: always look after the little people. They're important because the speech bubbles floating up from their heads actually provide invaluable feedback on just how you're doing.
Apart from looking after the kids, you also have manage your workforce, including mechanics and even guards to stop naughty thugs who start harassing the children.
However, it's not all business, there is some fun -- good job really. On the PlayStation, Theme Park even lets you wander around your site, and you get to try the rides out in some cute full-motion-video clips.
The management aspects of the game are easily accessible, but not too easy, especially as things get more complex early on. Ultimately, Theme Park is a rewarding and enjoyable game.
