You must protect your self by hiding, reloading and attacking at the right time. You don't have control of where your character moves, this is set in stone. But you can attack when you want and hide away when you want. Its great when you take out a few enemies, it really feels like your blowing them away as you fire, hit and they fly backwards. Enemies come at different levels...more

Premium Review Time Crisis (PS): Planes, Trains and... er GUNS!?! (450 words)
by - written on 30/05/01 (Very useful, 31 readings)
Rating:

Time Crisis has been converted to the PlayStation very well from the successful arcade game that it was. There are only slight differences between the versions, which you would only notice if you played the arcade version of the game, apart from those differences (which I will explain later) this is almost identical. ** The Game ** The style of the game is shoot ‘em up, the people that you have to shoot hide, come in and out of view and you have to shoot them in order to save the day! To play this game you need the gun, which you can get for the PlayStation. I am not sure how much a gun costs as I borrowed the gun when I played the game. I ...  Read the complete review

Cheats Cheat mode: Wait until the main screen with the three target boxes appear. Shoot the hole in the center of the letter "R" in the word "CRISIS" twice, then shoot inside the cross hairs that are next to the word "TIME" twice . A cheat menu with life, credit, and shot options will appear. These options may be used to enable nine lives, unlimited credits, and no reload mode. Note: Your aim must be extremely precise when firing at the screen. Aiming from just off the screen is recommended. Level select: Hold L1 + X + Circle for approximately five seconds. The sound of a gun will confirm correct code entry. Press ...  Read the complete review

Time Crisis (PS): Shoot your way victory (447 words)

For all those arcade fans out there, this is the game for you. Time Crisis is THE original shoot em’up, first in the arcades and on the PlayStation. In Time Crisis a psycho has kidnapped the Presidents daughter and is demanding a ransom for her safe return. But the President is a cheap bugger and can’t afford to pay what he’s asking for, so instead he sends in you to stop him. You’re dropped off by helicopter onto the island where he’s holding the daughter, but the guards see you and the psycho sends in all of his many, many men to stop you. So you have to work your way through three stages (that have three levels in each) killing ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Good for addicts! (190 words)

This game is good for those of you that find yourselves constantly wandering into the arcade and feeding your hard earned money into the little slot on the Time Crisis machine. For just one payment of about £20, you can enjoy the comfont of it in your own home without having to splash out your cash any more. Sure, there may be some disadvantages such as the screen is not as big and there is noone around to see your incredibly high top scores but you do get the comfort of playing it in your own home without having to visit the arcade and for many this may also work out to be cheaper too! I have tried to play this game without the gun and believe me, it should not be done! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Time Crisis (PS): Time Crisis (124 words)
by - written on 08/09/00 (Very useful, 8 readings)
Rating:

Time Crisis is a light gun based game, and certainly cannot be played to any enjoyable extent without one. When suitably equipped, the game helps pass an enjoyable few hours. Like many such games, depth isn't really what concerned those who made it - it's here for those who want to shoot stuff, and that's about it. The graphics look rather dated now, and aside from the basic shooting/ducking mechanism, there's nothing much to shout about. This won't keep you hooked for ages, but you're bound to find it pretty compelling in the short term. If you've got a Namco compatible light gun, and you can find this for less than a tenner, i'd ...  Read the complete review
