When it comes to PSone developers, Codemasters game design skills triumph above all others. The British devco, along with the occasionally brilliant Konami, are the diamonds in the cowpat if you will. Sure, Codemasters's best games are hardly stunningly original (with the possible exception of 'Operation Flashpoint') but I defy anyone not to have tremendous fun while playing 'Micro Machines V3' or 'Colin McRae Rally 2.0'. 'TOCA World Touring Cars' is the third game in their prestigious 'TOCA' lineage, a staple in the PlayStation fan's gaming diet for many a year. The structure of the game is similar to that of ... Title: Toca World Touring Cars Format: PSone Publisher: Codemasters There are a good handful of excellent driving titles out there on various formats. Sadly the N64 was always lacking in this department whilst the Playstation has been literally swamped with all manner of four-wheeled delights. On the Dreamcast you had the sequel to the old favourite Sega Rally and also the utterly stunning Metropolis Street Racer. The Playstation has the now legendary Gran Turismo series whilst the PC had one driving game that I played more than any other title –Toca 2. The Codemasters produced Toca series also made a welcome appearance on the ... Read the complete review

This game is a racing game which involves racing Touring Cars over a variety of circuits all over the globe. It is the third in a series, with Toca and Toca 2 coming before it. The first in the series was released quite a few years ago now, and the second was released a couple of years back, so the series was due an update. And here it is with this excellent game completing the trilogy. I played this game without any knowledge at all of the world of Touring Cars. I have not played the last two in the series, and although my mate was a fan and tried to get me into it, the idea never really appealed to me, as I was more a fan of F1 and did not want to be ... The ToCA series of games latest addition is this imaginatively titled offering. The aim is to compete in a series of races around the world in touring cars and ultimately win the championship. Nothing original here then! But there are some quite original ideas here, as well as a highly playable and realistic racing simulation. For starters there is the career mode, in which you start in the humble National series of races and progress ultimately to the prestigious World Championship. Your first choice will be who to drive for and in which country. You can opt to drive in the more familiar setting of the British Touring Car ... Read the complete review

As a car and especially touring car fanatic I was delighted to hear that Codemasters were to bring out a Touring cars game called TOCA touring cars based on the 1997 season. So it wasn't long before I was down at my local Woolworths pledging my money towards their funds - or maybe the Woolworths executive managers. It was a great game and too everybody's suprise - apart from mine of course - it shot to the top of the sales charts knocking off Tomb Raider and went on to become the 3rd best seller of the year. It seemed only fitting that Codemasters should bring out a sequal called TOCA2 - hardly original I know - but the name swayed me to buy it and soon I was ... Read the complete review
