Tomb Raider II is one of several titles that I played over at a friend's house then bought for myself. I remember playing it for the first time, where the game begins with Lara, the game's (female) protagonist, sliding down some slopes into a cavern. I hadn't experienced any of these 3D adventure games then, so the controls were an obstacle for me to overcome. It was clear that I had to climb up and out of the initial area, and to do that, I had to get a grasp of the controls, which I eventually did and I felt satisfied. That was only just the beginning. GRAPHICS: Tomb Raider was a revolutionary game. It deserves nothing less than a perfect score, even if there are glitches and a few misfires in detail. Tomb Raider 2, unfortunately, is not the revolutionary game its predecessor was. Undeniably, however, it is a stunning game. With the success of the first game a sequel was inevitable and it wasn't too long before one appeared on the market. The imaginatively named Tomb Raider 2 continues the adventures of Lara Croft, this time in the hunt for an ancient Chinese dagger which can give immortality to the person who stabs their heart with it. Not that Lara wants to stab her heart with it, she just thinks it'll look good above her mantle piece.
