Lara Croft returns in her third and most daring adventure yet - Tomb Raider 3. This time round, the (even more) beautiful Lara has to search for four mysterious artifacts, which arrived on earth when a meteorite crashed into Antarctica millions of years ago. Lara has to find the four artifacts for Dr Willard and take them to him in Antarctica. We are given these updates by Cut-scenes and FMV's at the end of each level, the same as Tomb Raider 1 and 2, although the FMV's are much more realistic and movie-like. The FMV's in TR1 and TR2 were critised because they were a little too flat and 2D-like, but the core design team have found the answer to having ... Read the complete review

Tomb Raider 3 is superb in every possible way. It has been updated a lot from the previous installments. I have got Tomb Raider and have played the demo for the sequel and the leap is incredable. First of all Lara is looking better than ever with smoother graphics slicker animation and new move. She gets new outfits depending on missions and if you jump in the fire in her house you even go on fire! The bad guys are even better than before not only can you kill a wide amount of animals like tigers, snakes and vultures but you get to shoot humans as well which may seem sadistic but adds more depth and realism to the game. They aren't too hard to ... Read the complete review

I found that this game is quite good, probably as I have not got the first two in the series. And I can see how many people could dislike this game as three and now four visits of Lara Croft is a bit much for even the most faithful fan isn't it! Maybe I should not have played this game straight away, as it seems to be very hard and maybe the makers were taking for granted that you have already got te first two before buying this. After about a month of tying to actually get some where, I finally conceded defeat where a more experienced gamer of 'Tomb Raider' would probably have succeeded and I went out and bought the walk through guide. To my astonishment, I ... Read the complete review

A third Tomb Raider game was inevitable, the previous two had done very well, everyone had heard of Lara Croft, Eidos would have been foolish not to. Unfortunately this outing comes acrossas nothing more than a further attempt to cash in on the franchise. Something is missing from this game and it's a real disappointment if you've enjoyed either of the previous games. This time round Lara's after some crystals, I'm afraid I can't remember why she wanted them, but it's probably of great importance. Locations are even more diverse than before, with Lara in London, the Ganges River and some old Temple ruins (well this one is more ... Read the complete review

Rating:
The third installment in the world-renowned Tomb Raider series doesn't really come up to scratch. The first Tomb Raider was rightfully hailed as a work of pure genious, when it came out in 1996, the second one made a few minor improvements, but was basically an expansion for the first one. And Tomb Raider 3 can be seen as little more than a money-grabbing fund-raiser. The game plays virtually the same as number 2, with a few new vehicles, weapons and moves. The locations are both large and superbly rendered, they are also much more diverse and varied than either of its predecessors. Many die-hard fans of the game have noticed the trend of the newer versions ... Read the complete review
