Advantages: It had and still has one of the coolest intro videos I've ever seen, good story, cool characters
Disadvantages: dated graphics
Urban Chaos is one of those unknown games that very few people played. You play Darcy a female cop who is on a mission to take down the wildcats (a gang who are becoming increasingly dangerous) while at the same time investigating strange paranormal events that seems to be taking place all over the city.
You are equipped with multiple weapons and can either arrest or kill people. You can also engage in hand to hand combat which is quite fun and quite challenging (it takes some practice to pull of certain moves).
Urban Chaos is quite similar to the 3D GTA games as the game is free-roaming and allows you to drive a variety of vehicles. The driving is ridiculously clunky and is no way as smooth as driving in GTA.
It feels quite good playing a cop to be honest. Hunting down the bad guys and putting them in their place makes for a nice change. The game also had a few bonus characters you could play as, one being a mysterious figure called Roper, and the other being a Jamaican gang banger.
Graphics were not great for its time and they're rather abysmal now. Models are blocky and textures are small. If you plan on playing this game on the Playstation then there isn't really much you can do however if you plan on playing on the PC, you can enable antialiasing, I doubt that this will make much difference though. You can't do it in game but you can do it with apps such as the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Urban Chaos was a great effort by Mucky Foot Productions who became defunct soon after the release of the game. It has a very compelling story and great gameplay. Had the game been marketed properly, it probably would have sold well.
Summary: fun game with interesting story
