World Championship Snooker (PS) ... as the actors take centre stage. But this is no theatre - this is The Crucible, the actors are snooker players and the stage is an intimidating expanse of green baize. Welcome to the World Final in Sheffield. With 20 pros to play against including Stephen Hendry and Mark Williams, youre going to need the World Snooker Association backed training master class. And thats depending on whether you get to the finals in the first place - you have to get through the regional qualifiers first. World Championship Snooker is in a class of its own. Its all about angles you know.

... the colour of their shirts and hair, but lets face it - who buys a snooker game for the quality of the player graphics. The balls and table are well rendered and make it easy to see what's going on. The Challenge ------------------ For me Codemasters got teh level of challenge spot on. the game is easy to pick up and play but difficult to master (I am still waiting for my first 147 break!). The computer controlled opponents vary from the largely woeful to rather adept and offer challenge for play...more

Premium Review World Championship Snooker (PS): Worth cueing for! (318 words)

Rating:

This game is probably the only reason I still own a Playstation. I bought it years and years ago when I was at uni and it turned into a classic student game for me and some friends! The Concept ----------------- Well it is a snooker simulation. Simple as that. It gives you various tournament options and allows you to take a player through a career. The Graphics ----------------- The graphics are quite good for a Playstation game, sure the player models are a little androgenous and largely differentiated by the colour of their shirts and hair, but lets face it - who buys a snooker game for the quality of the player ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

Snooker is without a doubt one of the most boring sports on television. This situation is not helped by the commentators who could make England beating Germany for the World Cup in a thrilling penalty shoot-out frequently interrupted by shootings, streakers and parachutists as dull as Watercolour Challenge. It is also very tedious to actually play. It's okay as long as you are either playing against a complete amateur, barely able to hold the cue but when you play against a pro capable of 147 breaks you know you'd better get a comfortable chair ready. World Championship Snooker does not attempt to alleviate the boredom of snooker but somehow makes it more ...  Read the complete review
