Worms is a game which was first released on the Playstation in the 1990's and is designed for 1-4 players (with extra controllers & linking up two playstations) and you will require a memory card if you want to save your games at all. The box itself is a standard Playstation box with the disc in a holder & the instruction manual which is in 6 different languages (including English of course) and will tell you how to play the game & how to use the controls as well as over miscellaneous information. The game itself is fairly simple to play and the aim of the game is to play against your friends or the computer and use your worms to throw ... Read the complete review

I was first introduced to this game for the Playstation one by a friend who was completely nuts about it and I really only started playing it to shut her up! However I soon became hooked on the cute little wormies and their mad killing ways! So here’s what the game is all about… *** The Box *** I’ll get the boring bit out the way first. Worms comes in a playstation one box, with the word Worms on the front with the ‘O’ replaced by a hand grenade. The main picture is of two worms loaded up with weapons wriggling away from an explosion in the background. The back of the box contains the usual clips taken from the game and a paragraph ... Worms was released in 1997 for the PS1 by Team 17 software and their partners Ocean. The retail price is variable as it is not amongst the mainstream games these days due to the arrival of more updated versions such as Worms Armageddon. Mine personally cost me £1.50 plus P+P from eBay but you can often pick up preowned ones for less than ten pounds. The game is roughly within the shoot em up genre but is much more light hearted than most games of this genre. You can choose to play the computer or a friend and can play single games - friendlies, or participate in a league tournament. The basic object of the game is to destroy your ... I was playing Worms for the first time in ages yesterday so I thought I would have a look to see what other people thought of it. I couldn't believe there has only been one opinion written on it so here I am doubling that single handedly! I love this game for its simplicity and often hilarious results. Each player has a team of four worms, which you can name (a little thing but a nice touch), and each worm starts off with 100 points worth of life. The object of the game is to try to obliterate everyone elses worms, by gradually taking points off them, until there is only one team (usually with just the one worm) left standing. There are several weapons ... Read the complete review

Who would of thought a 2D game could be such a hit on a 3D console? Well truth is there have been loads of successful 2D games on the PSX and Worms has to be one of the best. It has a great selection of areas to battle him as well as a collection of funny SFX which makes the game so entertaining. You just cant help laughing when the squeaky worms talk in their high pitched voices. There are a number of weapons ranging from power punches to homing missiles, but the best have to be two of the weapons which can only be obtained by pickup crates (or by cheating): the Exploding Bananas and the sheep bombs. There are also tools for defence including ... Read the complete review
