Advantages: Great game, fun for most ages, easy to use controls, comical parts.
Disadvantages: Can be frustrating for younger children as the controls can be confusing.
Worms is a game which was first released on the Playstation in the 1990's and is designed for 1-4 players (with extra controllers & linking up two playstations) and you will require a memory card if you want to save your games at all.
The box itself is a standard Playstation box with the disc in a holder & the instruction manual which is in 6 different languages (including English of course) and will tell you how to play the game & how to use the controls as well as over miscellaneous information.
The game itself is fairly simple to play and the aim of the game is to play against your friends or the computer and use your worms to throw weapons at the opposing team in order to kill their worms and hopefully kill them all before your worms die and you lose the round.
The controls are fairly easy to use but it does take a little bit of time to get used to picking the weapons and how to aim them at the opposing them and ensure that you hit them rather than misjudging and finding a mine or bazuka coming back to bite you on the ass!
This game is quite comical and it's really fun to blow up the worms to try and win the level and there are lots of different weapons to choose from and although some of these have limits on them for each level this is great as it will just encourage you to work on your strategy more and try out all of the different weapons. I really enjoy some of the phrases and sayings that the worms come out with as well as their sound effects and enjoy seeing some of them flying through the air as they blow themselves up (kamikaze worms!).
All in all I would say that this is a great game for most ages and although it's suitable for 3+ I wouldn't let anyone younger than about 10 try out this game as the controls would be complicated for a younger person and in my experience this usually leads to frustration! I am a big child at heart and I still enjoy this game now just as much as I did when I was 10 myself and for this reason I am rating it 4/5.
It's available to buy from ebay from time to time and I brought mine at a car boot sale along with a playstation console and a ton of other playstation games for just £15.00 so that was a bargain for an old games console that cost a fortune back in the day!
Summary: A fantastic game that I'd recommend for older children & big kids alike!
