This is a great little fun game for psp full of mini games to complete either aas a single or multiplayer. This game is great for comedy value and shouldn't be taken to seriously. There are different levels of difficulty that can be played, i personally find the first few levels very easy. These are probably better for younger children. The game revolves around taking the monkeys through various tasks such as boxing, hitting things with sticks and other weird and wonderful games. When games companies release a collection of mini games we expect them to be pretty average unless they're based around a big name. Ape Escape might not be a massive brand, but if you ever owned a Playstation or knew someone who did you'll probably have heard of it. The basic idea was catching monkeys with a net whilst pursuing new gadgets across many varied levels. It sounds pretty basic in idea but it was a lot of fun and so much more than that. With the introduction of the PSP, a game tailored for 'pick up and play' does make sense. At first glance this seems to be a cute game aimed at kids to see how fast they can follow instructions, but that not it at all. Ape Academy eases you in with its cute and basic beginner levels of tap the buttons I tell you when I tell you to but it quickly advances to a level of required skill that will make you wonder why you thought it was so easy in the first place. I find myself playing again and again - just so I can say I figured out how to beat that one stage! The game is very difficult to put down and is very user friendly - I particularly enjoy one round where it tells you to rotate the entire console 90 degrees to play!
