Upon booting up Brain Challenge, I felt the grumpy gaming purist in me beginning to surface, telling me that I should really resent what I was letting myself in for. After all, it's a title that unashamedly flies the flag of 'edutainment', with super-clinical menu screens and music that lends it the air of a tacky game show. Or maybe it's the tutoring you receive from the white-coat clad virtual 'Doctors', whose irritating manner suggests that, in terms of mental competence, they see you as somewhere between the level of a child and a lab-rat.
