Advantages: Looks nice
Disadvantages: Plays jerky at times
There are some games that are ideal for handheld consoles, Role Playing games for me are perfect. I feel more comfortable sitting around playing this or on the train to work, especially when you don't even need to save your game with the PSP, you just turn it off when you can't play no more and back on and it's where you left it. Awesome, Breath of Fire is very like Final Fantasy, same magic potion fights and strange mystic dialouge but truth be told it's all quite intriguing.
Graphics - Pretty special, reminds me a lot of Devil May Cry on the PS2 at first, all characters are masterfully rendered and the environments are stunning. 7 out of 10
Gameplay - This is it's downfall, these games are hard ot control because theres so much going on plus theres little mini games for the fight sequences which aren't as easy to conrol as the actual game. 6 out of 10
Sound - Not bad, the cutscenes have good voiceovers so that can't be complained about, the music is the kinda medevil stuff you would expect. 6 out of 10
Longevity - Well I think I clocked out about 8 hours of this game and didn't quite complete it, i've no urge to start again but 8 hours+ ain't bad for a game nowdays. 6 out of 10
Overall - With games like Final Fantasy this will always struggle, on it's own it's a decent RPG but it looks average compared to the bigger and better ones. 6 out of 10
Summary: A slightly above average RPG
