Advantages: Very addictive, easy to pick up and play

Disadvantages: Once challenges are complete it can get boring

I love playing cricket (I play for Bapchild) and loved Brian Lara International Cricket on the playstation and couldn't wait for a cricket game to come out on the PSP. This is the first and only cricket game available for the PSP that I am aware of and it does not disappoint.

GAMEPLAY
When I first got this game I could not get off it and I was hooked straight away! It offers a good range of challenges including batting, bowling and fielding with 16 challenges in all. The challenges obviously start off easier and gradually get harder and harder however once you get the hang of the game none of the challenges are actually very challenging.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL
As mentioned above the challenges become quite easy once you have learnt how to play the game to a good standard. You can also set the level of exhibition game to different levels. This can become tricky at times and adds a bit more excitement to the game when playing at test level.

FUN FACTOR
The game is extremely fun the first few times you play it. However when all the challenges are complete and you have become used to all the controls it can become boring and repetitive.

GAME CONTROLS
Batting is the usual for any cricket game- set the direction using the analogue or D pad and then use [] to defend, X to play a normal shot on the floor and O for a slog or hit in the air. Bowling is set by selecting where you want the ball to pitch and then setting the power (pace). Fielding is also relatively easy, the players run for the ball themselves and then you just have to select on the time gauge when to hit X.

AUDIO
This game defiantly has the best soundtrack of all the PSP games I have played some fun, upbeat music. I'm not sure who the voices of the commentators are but they are also pretty good.

MANUAL
I never really like reading game manuals, however at a glance everything is in there and you can't really go wrong if you play along whilst reading the manual.

For around £20 I would recommend this game. However the fun factor does wear off and I would also recommend maybe renting it first.

Summary: Nice first attempt at Brian Lara on PSP.

I don't why, but I find it hard to imagine a cricket game being much fun... :)
