      Advantages

      Disadvantages

All in all this is a very well put together PSP Driving game. I really liked it.

      THE SUMMARY
Become the don of the street in this funky racing game set in 1976 on the Sony Playstation Portable. Driver 76 (PSP) created by Ubisofts team is a great mission based driving game.

      THE STORY
Cars your character loves everything about them. The story starts on the streets of New York with a little bit of good old of the book street racing but this quickly changes to be just an escape from the cops. Your character is a wheel man born to drive making money wherever he can. You have been in New York 6 months with not much action apart from the odd getaway job. One night in one of New Yorks finest establishments you meet Cenchi a hot Latina woman who dances sexily and you are smitten. Unfortunately Chenci is taken. Not only is Chenci taken but she is taken by a Triad and they are well known for causing big trouble. Helped by your friend Slink a cool pimp liken to Huggy Bear in the Starsky and Hutch show you start undertaking missions to try and make Zhou The Triads Boss happy. If Zhou is happy then he may let you date Chenci.

      THE GAMEPLAY
The game play on this game is great fun if very similar to that of Grand Theft Auto (the player view is almost identical). The majority of the missions are undertaken in the car but you can get out and walk around should you wish for a change.

The missions are all clearly preluded with adequate descriptions so you are aware of what you are doing. Once in the missions the gameplay becomes fairly addictive and no soon have you finished one mission you will want to undertake the next.

Completing the missions to earns you money. You can use this money to spend on vehicle mods (Customised paint jobs, engine upgrades, performance parts and nitros) as well as ammo for any weapons you require.

The one problem I had with the gameplay on this game was that the steering was controlled by the use of the PSP's analogue button. The analogue button I found difficult to use to control my vehicle and I was swerving from one side of the road to the other. This was only a minor problem and after a few missions control of your vehicle becomes second nature.

      THE GRAPHICS
This game looks brilliant. Stylish oranges and browns rule in the screen views helping to enhance that 70's feel this game has in abundance. The main story is told in cut scenes shown in a comic book style but the main game is where the graphic really shine.

The cars look sharp and realistic as they drive around the streets of New York and the cityscapes move realistically as you drive and also serve as a bit of a distraction should you wish to take a break form the driving and just look around.

      THE SOUNDS.
The sounds in this game are in one word "Funky". It is 1976 after all. There are some well known hits played to you as you drive around. Including Low Rider and some from Blondie.

      THE RATING
I rate this game as 8/10 it is great fun driving around completing missions the graphics are extremely good and the storyline flows well. All in all this is a very well put together game. I really liked it.
