Overall, not a bad strategy game for PSP

I bought this game for my PSP not sure what it would be like as wasn't too convinced that you could make a good turn-based strategy game for the PSP. However, Sony have given it a good go with this particular offering.

This game is almost like a game of chess really. It doesn't always matter if you're outnumbered as at the end of the day your tactics if good enough will win through in most scenarios and will beat strength. That is always the foundations that make any good strategy game in my opinion.

In this game you play as a commander who has the unenviable job of leading his troops into action on the battlefield. This is great fun and there are many different ways to win a fight, but how you do it is up to you entirely. You are given complete freedom in the game on how you want to arrange your troops in battle.

However, you can't just move over an enemy unit to destroy and eliminate like you do in chess. In this you must commence battle with their unit. If you attacked them you get the first shot as the attacking unit always goes first which is fair enough. The battle ends with the unit defending taking his or her shot. The conditions are that you are only allowed one attack per unit per turn.

The best thing about this game is the strategy side of it and if you enjoy things like that where you have to think about proper placement of your armies and management of them then you will probably find this quite enjoyable. The fact that you can play it online too adds to the enjoyment as it's always better to fight against another human rather than a computer.

The controls are pretty easy to master too with no really complicated moves to learn or anything. Howver, the graphics are not spectacular to say the least. To be honest I enjoyed the strategy aspect far more so the graphics are not wholly important to the game.

Missions can take over half hour to complete which isn't too bad and every move you make is voiced so you know what's going on. The only drawback to playing against the computer is that it's not that difficult. However, the multiplayer aspect saves it somewhat.

I think if you like strategy games then this is great but you may find the play against the computer not that challenging like some games, but if you play it online you can have hours of fun with it.
