      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Another good Fifa game

Every console I have played on I have alwyas purchased Fifa for it. When this was released on the Psp I had to take a look at it because I expected it to be very good. You expect every version of Fifa to be that extra little bit better than the previous one and this one lived up to that expectation.

      Price

The price for this when I purchase it was only £24.99 which I was pretty pleased with. After looking around I have found that you could now get it for around the £12 mark which for a game which is definatley not old is a good price which you should take a chance on.

      Game Modes

The game modes on this Fifa are a bit different ot previous version. I will list which ones are available below.

      Control Single Player

With this version of Fifa you can actually take control of a single player and try to break into the internationl scene with that one specific player. I think this is a good added feature to have and gives users something else to do on the game other than the usual things that are normally available.

      Career/Manager Mode

The career mode is pretty much identical to previous years with one of the only exceptions being the players you can actually purchase. This will involve taking charge of a team and trying to do the best you can with them.

      Tournament Mode

With tournament mode you can play as a team and participate in a selected tournament. This will have no significance and is pretty much just a tournament with no meaning.

      Practice

Practice is something which I think is a good feature because it gives you the chance to try out some different things on the playing field before you go into an actual match.

      Gameplay

Like every other Fifa I think the graphics are excellent and the players are looking more like the real thing with every Fifa release. You are now able to do a lot more things than just pass, cross and shoot and to be honest the game is a lot better for this. The commentators do get a bit repetitive but you expect that with the game by now so I didn't think that was the biggest of problems.

      Overall

Overall for £12 as it is now I would think it is a bargain price to purchase it at. I do have to say that the World Cup version which has been released is better but again it is a newer version so you would always expect that to be the case. If you are wanting a football game to play which is not to expensive then this is definatley the one to go for.

A great game for 1st timers and for people who know the franchise

As a 22yr old guy who should know better, I still enjoy games and as a football fan it was inevitable that I got fifa 10 as soon as i knew it was released. To be brutally honest its brilliant on a handheld console and I am glad I did. In the game menu you can either set up a quick challenge for 5 minutes of fun or start a new season in manager mode. Be a pro mode is back for 2010, this is where you take a single player through the ranks of squad member to international superstar, and it doesn't disappoint. The gameplay is realistic and you can get used to the buttons quite easily. Mastering the tricks can take a little longer but still a fun experience on the move. The graphics are superb and have been updated from last years effort. All in all I feel it is a must have for a football fan who owns a Sony PSP.

best football game around at the moment

I have played a range of football games and the first football game I had was Fifa 96 on the PC. The Fifa franchise actually began in 1993 with the first game in the series which was FIFA International Soccer. It is now released on a number of different platforms and current consoles which include the PS3,PS2, Xbox, Nintendo Wii/Ds, Pc and the version which I have got this year which is on the PSP (PlayStation Portable). This is the first Fifa game i have actually purchased for the PSP. I have in the past gone for Pro Evolution Soccer which seemed to have better game play but the Fifa series has seemed to come back on top in more recent seasons and they have maybe worked hard on developing and improving the game to be the best football game. It is now available from some places for less than £15 which was around the price I paid for it which seems like a good deal for the latest game in the Fifa series on the PSP.

Now on to the game itself and it has what you would expect from a normal Fifa game on your console. It has all the different modes and options as well. From the main menu you can choose to 'kick off' which is where you can choose to quick start a one off game. Then there are all the different game modes -

Be a pro :allows you to take control of just one player and play for your club and attempt to make your national team,

Season: allows you to take charge of a club through a season

Tournament-take part in a tournament such as the Fa Cup

Manager mode-take charge of controlling a team in all aspects such as player contracts, team selectionetc.

Challenges-complete challenges in certain match situations.

Soccer Iq-quizzes and questions on football.

Practice mode-a chance to practice skills and set pieces.

The fact that there are all these features on the portable version is great and means the game does have a lasting appeal if people do really want to get into it. There is also the opportunity to have multiplayer play as well. There is also the usual options to set in 'my Fifa 10' where you can choose what level you want to start playing at , length of game etc. You can also customise teams and lineups and do any transfers.

I haven't played a Fifa game on the PSP before this one so cannot compare it directly but comparing to Pro Evolution, it does seem to be a bit slicker in terms of presentation and this is obviously helped by having all the official licenses. The gameplay got a bit of getting used to and I needed to play a few games to get into it but once you get the hang of it, the game does get quite addictive. There have been a number of improvements on previous versions which have improved the artificial intelligence (AI) of other players and goalkeepers with such things as increased player urgency and more intelligent runs made by players off the ball. There is also a new 360 degree dribbling control system which gives you greater control over what's going on in the game.

The graphics are not as great as that you would expect from PS3 or Xbox but for a portable console it is probably the best you can get. I found the commentary and sounds on the game a bit disappointing but the soundtrack is pretty decent as you come to expect from the Fifa games. I would almost give the game 5 stars but it is not quite perfect. There are some issues overall but in conclusion is highly recommended and has a number of different modes and options to keep you playing.
