      If you loved LittleBigPlanet on PS3, you'll really enjoy this.

      As a big fan of LittleBigPlanet on PS3, I was excited to find out that a PSP version was being released. You would be able to bring the charm and creativity of the original along with you. This new PSP version would nearly certainly be a success - the creators of the original game, Media Molecule, would be working on it with Sony Cambridge. Plus, the series has become extremely famous; a lot of people who don't even own the game have a soft, cuddly Sackboy plush toy. Surprise surprise, the game is excellent. The story mode is even more fun than on the PS3 version and the creation mode is good. Best of all, you can play levels created by other players. So, it's time to dust off your PSP, go out and get LittleBigPlanet PSP. It's a purchase you won't regret.

      I'll start off talking about the story mode. You are Sackboy and decide to take a holiday around the world. You start off in the sunny Australia and soon go on to China, Persia, Arabia and more. The plot is simple and not focused on too much. An emotional, in-depth story wouldn't suit LittleBigPlanet after all. The developers want to simply let you play.

      There are seven worlds in the game. In each world, there is a 'Creator Curator'. A Creator Curator is the person, or creature, who created and owns the world, basically. As you go through each world, the game gets harder. The first world, Australia, is basically a tutorial on how to play the game. But in the later levels, there are more deadly obstacles to pass. Now, I'll talk about the gameplay itself. You control Sackboy, who looks like a stuffed toy. You guide him through over 20 new levels. The gameplay is simple. The world is 2.5D, meaning you see the game in a 2D view but you can step in and out of layers, like in the Tekken series. You can make your Sackboy do simple things like running and jumping. There are also some simple animations Sackboy can do, such as jumping into the air and spinning around. It proves that you don't need complex gameplay for a game to be good.

      Overall, I really enjoyed the story mode. The varied locations mean that there are lots of different environments, from boiling deserts to snowy mountains. The story mode also shows that despite being a handheld, the PSP is quite powerful graphically. Fun and vibrant levels meant that I enjoyed the story mode more than in the PS3 version. I can only criticize the story mode for one thing: it's length. This lasted me about six hours. For about £16 this isn't too bad, but you just want more. However, the game has an excellent replay value. There are objects hidden throughout levels which you collect to help build your own levels. There are mini-levels that you can unlock, too.

      The creation mode is what made LittleBigPlanet on PS3 great. Unfortunately, the PSP's limited power means its impossible to create some of the things that you did on PS3. It's still very good, though. But if you don't own either versions, you may be wondering why it's so good. The answer: you can create some excellent levels, yet it isn't very complex at all.

      Pressing square on your PSP lets you access the Popit menu. This is very important when it comes to building. From here, you can do several things. You can bring up the Popit, which moves objects and tweaks switches. Next, there's the Goodie Bag. You can find a lot here. There's materials, which you can use to make walls, ceilings, stairs etc. In the next section of the Goodie Bag, there's the items that you found in story mode. From a football to a monkey head, there is a wide range of random items. The Tools Menu is next. For complex creators, this is the most important part of the Popit menu. There are loads of switches here, plus tools to help make objects electric. I won't go into detail with the rest of the things in the Popit menu. There's 'stickers' which help decorate your level. Plus, there's the dressing-up-your-Sackboy section.

      Once you've finished a level, you can publish it online so people from all around the world can play it. When a player finishes your level, they are asked to rate it out of five stars. The higher the rating your level is overall, the more people who will play on it.

      I found the Creation mode good. It isn't complex and there are loads of items and tools to help build your level. It also helps add longevity to the game. You can make some really good levels here. However, I played LittleBigPlanet on PS3 and enjoyed the Creation mode more, there. But if you're new to LPB, you'll love the creations you can make on PSP.

      Overall, I really enjoyed playing LittleBigPlanet on PSP. I loved the story mode - it's colourful, fun and shows off the PSP's graphics. The creation mode isn't quite as good as on the PS3, but you can still make some great creations. Best of all? You get to share your levels online. The music can be annoying, but is mostly good. LBP is one of the best games on PSP.

      works in its own right as a game, in its own way as good as the first

      This was my first experience of playing on the PSP platform, and prior to playing this game I was a little dubious as to how, given the limitations of a portable console, the developers could possibly produce anything worthy of the Little Big Planet name. I'd played and enjoyed the PS3 version, and was pleasantly surprised to find that this "littler" version was surprisingly similar to its bigger brother and a better gaming experience than I thought it could possibly be.

      You don't have to have played the PS3 version to instantly enjoy the world of Little Big Planet. You play as "sack boy" through 30 different platform levels in 2 planes. The twist to this game is that the world you play in is both graphically quirky and beautiful but also customisable by you, the player. You can place stickers into the world you play in, you gain points by collecting bubbles small and large, the larger ones contain different stickers and also give you the option of customising your character with different clothes and appearances. You can also create, play and share your own levels with the items you have collected - it's an original concept.

      I found that the story levels took me less than 7 hours to complete, which left me at the end wanting more. I'd enjoyed the levels which are set on different continents of a planet with graphics to match - you might find yourself battling alien spaceships or a giant gorilla in a Little Big Planet take of Hollywood, or avoiding electrified skiers and climbing up mountains in a ski resort, it's all good fun. What's great, in terms of game play is how well the actual physics of the game are programmed, when you pull an object to jump on it, it reacts convincingly, like in the original you can swing from things and jump on platforms with ease, even on the smaller screen of the psp I found myself absorbed and entertained in a way I hadn't expected. You might find yourself floating in a hot air balloon one minute, avoiding electric parachutes the next, and sliding down a dragon's neck after that - it's an interesting and varied gaming experience that is a visual delight. The worlds are built up with different textures and materials, so you might find yourself clinging to a denim tree or using a fireball to melt snow. If you haven't played the previous game you will probably find yourself instantly captivated by the world of Little Big Planet, if you have you are in familiar and enjoyable territory.

      One thing that did annoy me slightly is that for some reason the developers have put a black fuzzy bit around the screen for visual effect I assume - this left me thinking there was something wrong with my psp on more than one occasion! That said, graphically, there's very little to criticise, loading times on some of the levels is a little frustratingly slow at times but the game is a visual delight. Stephen Fry, again, like in the original, narrates the instruction phase of the game which takes place in the first levels, as the game is pretty intuitive to any PS gamer this part is quickly got through - I do find however that Fry's voice does make you feel like you are playing a classic. The accompanying music is also suitably jolly and though not quite as catchy as the original adds to the feel of the different worlds effectively.

      For me I found the level of difficulty of the game spot on - it did get increasingly difficult through the levels but there was no point where I felt that I would have to give up, and it was challenging without being annoying. I liked the fact that failure, such as falling off something or getting crushed meant point deduction rather than total death, this wasn't the case in the PS3 game and I think is an improvement. The puzzles too were satisfying without being completely unsolvable, this to me is always a good thing.

      Inevitably, being on a smaller console, a few elements are missing from the original - you can't play co-operatively online as you could in the original to unlock areas needing up to 4 players. There weren't quite so many bits to unlock with the special "switch trigger" stickers either, but the levels can still be replayed to improve your score or collect bubbles you missed first time round. There are also special keys to grab which unlock mini levels, some of these are actually quite original - one where you had to roll along a giant beach ball to avoid the sand of a hot beach whilst jumping over things kept me entertained for ages. Having the game in 2 planes as opposed to 3 on the PS3 actually made for a better gaming experience for my money.

      I did have a peak at making my own levels in the creative bit of the game - it was fairly easy to build up a world I could then play with, but also very fiddly and the results I got weren't very good. Judging from some of the levels available online that have been produced by other players with more time on their hands than me, in theory you could build something worth playing - it's a nice idea but not one that I will probably explore much further. In part this is due to the limitations of the PSP controls - I find the little joystick on the game and the R1 and L1 buttons annoyingly placed - this is not the fault of the game developers who have, in my opinion, done a splendid job getting the most from this console.

      Overall, I think that that this game works well as a stand alone experience, or as a pleasing continuation for those who have played on PS3 - I will still be investigating Little Big Planet 2 on PS3, but certainly I found this game worth playing and more entertaining than I thought. I got my game as part of the PSP Go package, but for a PSP owner I would say this game is probably a must have, I've yet to play anything on the PSP that I've enjoyed quite as much as this and it certainly lives up to all I would have expected from a Little Big Planet game. Highly recommended.

        A worthwhile investment for any PSP owner

        The game that the PSP was made for. A mark of genius. Top Drawer. Are just three ways in which I could use to describe this game.
        When I first heard about Little Big Planet it was when the PS3 version was released. It quickly gained many accolades and even today it remains a lot of magazines top game for the system. For some reason however I decided to snub the game I decided it was overrated and for kids. I had no basis for this just something in my mind told me I hated the game and I had not even read a review for it.
        Much later I heard that there was going to be a version released for the PSP. Once again I snubbed this and wrote it off as not even worth looking at. However then something happened and I decided to read a few reviews on the game and then with a bargain price I decided to take the plunge and ask for it at Christmas.
        This decision rates as one of the best gaming decisions of my life. I was hooked. The game was fantastic. I thought I would just be downloading people's level creations and creating my own. How wrong I was. I did not do any of this until I had completed the game. It was such an enjoyable single player experience I would rate it up there with the original Super Mario Brothers. It was also very clever in keeping you hooked because through the levels you collect objects that you can then use when creating your own levels. So if you don't play the game through then you don't get the full benefits of creating you own levels.
        The creating your own levels and downloading others people creations to play are where this game really excels over its rivals. I would buy this game for single player alone but once you go online you really are opening up a Pandora's Box of treats. It also adds almost infinite replay value to the title. There is loads to create and to help you do this there is a tutorial on everything to ensure you know exactly what you are doing. Once these have played out once they do not replay but you can go into your options to hear them again. There is months of fun to be had creating your levels. To add to the enjoyment people also rate your levels so you can see if that career in gaming design is really for you or not. Just when you think you know it all you inevitably download a level created by somebody else that simply blows you away and sends you back the drawing board. An example of which is the person that has recreated the first level from Sonic the Hedgehog. Genius.
        Overall a great game that if you have a PSP you would be a fool to miss out on no matter what age you are. The only thing worth noting is that if you wish to go online you need a wireless connection to do so.

          A great port

          I was never as crazy about LittleBigPlanet on the PS3 as most people, but it was a fun and well engineered game, but the thought of it being ported to the PSP just seemed ridiculous, given the technical limitations of the handheld console. Nevertheless, this is a great port that allows a new platform of players to get to play it.

          The gameplay is largely side-scrolling, with you traipsing through a number of strange platforming levels, using contraptions throughout the levels to successfully navigate yourself. You play Sackboy, a boy with a sack for a body, and this is a surprisingly addictive title that'll keep you playing for months. After playing through the single player, you can go online and view the user-created maps, which are nothing short of amazing, and they give the game significantly more longevity than it would otherwise have. Also, you can create maps yourself with an intuitive map designer that'll sap hours out of your life because it's so damn fun!

          Visually, this had a lot to live up to given how great the PS3 looks, and while of course nowhere near as detailed, it holds up pretty well and is about as good as I could ever imagine for the PSP. Sackboy particularly looks splendid, but throughout the textures are solid and the environments are especially robust looking. It's more about the creative style than anything, but even on a pure visual level it works a treat. Aurally, it's decent, although the game isn't so much about that.

          There's so much to do in this game that it's difficult to imagine anyone getting bored, for though it relies on a gimmick, it is an exceptionally well crafted gimmick that'll convince even the most ardent cynic (such as myself).

          I've been having a time off for the past few weeks due to holiday season. Then I finally realize that as the year started It's about time to go back with my daily routine so all I have in mind at the moment is to review some good stuff that are worth buying for. Last christmas my son has added this game in his list and father christmas was very kind enough to gave him this game.

          Little Big Planet has a big success on playstation 3 and now strike out and hit the road with portable adventure. The main star of this game is Sack Boy. He's cute, creative and not fond of limitations. He strongly believess that when it comess to fun anything goes. So the excitement is about to start!

          It has a revolving door to magic and marvels and it contains the following options:

          Little Big Planet- A level which you will discover the wonderful world of creator curators. Down Under is the first area that your sackperson will going to visit. Down Under's Aboriginal Mystic is just one of the legendary creator curators. The place to go walkabout, sun sorched and filled with amazing sights and tricks to help you suceed.

          My Moon- A place where your wildest dream come to life. You can choose " My Levels" to swoop across the lunar surface.           Community Moon- Head to community moon to view and download the fruits of your fellow fan's creativity. Through sharing, It makes the world go round but to gain access you'll need to complete the first 2 levels of down under.

          The main reason to this platforming adventure is to capture the prize that give you items to use in your own creations. You get a blank slate to create whatever goofy level you like. When you're finish, you can upload the creation to the LBP servers, download other's creation and play it. It's where the fun comes with the online mode where you can jump on anyones made up levels and see if you can beat them. It's really an exciting game that we all enjoy.

          Well for me, It's a modern evolution of Mario Bros. It's all about platforming levels where a cute character named Sackboy have a mission that has to run, jump and grab from one side of the screen to another. A great fun for kids that helps them explore their imagination into something valuable. I highly recommend it and urge everyone to get a copy of this game and put a little bit of hard work into creating great work. Many game lover will benefit from your masterpiece. So sit back and let your dreams take the controls.

          Good value game

          Little Big Planet has big appeal with kids as the game has some nice graphics, cute characters and fun feel to the game. The gameplay itself is simple as it's a side scrolling platform game where you can jump, run along and grab things as you go along.

          The levels of the game were pretty challenging which is good as keeps you interested. However if you lose all your lives you have to start at the very start again which is frustrating as some games let you start further on that that.

          At the start of the game you can take a tutorial on how to build objects, blow up things and move other things as well. You start off in your own home and then advance through the levels.

          The beauty of this game is you can create your own levels to play which is great and something different from the normal.

          When I built my first level it was great fun and I found myself looking at parts of it that needed improvement and generally testing it as I went along. It is a good family type game that everyone can get involved in. If you love building levels then you will have hours of fun amending every tiny detail in your level and also you can see other levels that online users have developed and built.

          For me this game has a lot of value in it for your kids so they can be creative and build levels for themselves. It is great interaction as well between them and the game and you can all join in. However if you want a ready-made platform game this might not be for you. I enjoyed it as you are sort of developing and designing a game for yourself and playing it.

          Buy LBP especially if you liked the PS3 version of it.

          Little Big Planet has finally hit the Sony portable and it has come with a bang! You can now play as the infamous sackboy and complete levels across the globe as the little man in crazy yet cool costumes and accessories. The levels are reletavily easy and the story is mode is short, simple but a lot of fun. However, the true fun comes with the online mode where you can jump around literally anyones made up levels/maps and see if you can beat their scores or just meet some players who love the game just as much as you do. A nice little feature of little big planet is that you can download game add-ons via the playstation network such as a Father Christmas costume or a hoodie replicating Assassins Creed. The game is super fun and the best thing is you can take it where ever you want to and build the very best levels on the go whether you are on a train bus or just relaxing at a friends house. I recommend this game to anyone who has a PSP especially with it being just £17.99 at amazon.co.uk
