Advantages: Playability, graphics, great shooter game

Disadvantages: Short & Simple

Medal of Honor Heroes is testament to the fact that a successful first person shooter war game can be transferred to the psp. It's easy to master - only took about half-an-hour to get to grips with all of the commands probably due to the nice and steady approach through the first stages which guide you on your way.
Apparently, the medal of honor franchise is the best-selling WWII one of all time and I've played before on the PS2 and loved all their games so I can see why they're so popular - I wasn't disappointed with this one.
The game follows 3 soldiers through 15 campaign missions all of which have objectives, the primary ones must be completed and secondary ones are optional but essential for gaining medals and unlocking the extras. There's also added bonuses for accurate shooting and kill counts.

The Compass in the bottom left-hand corner tells you where the team is located and which way to head for the objectives and if you can't remember what the objectives were or whether you've completed the secondary ones then merely press start and they're all handily available for you to browse! The compass also points out where a grenade is so if there's time you can go and kick it out the way before it does any damage.
Your health is displayed at the top of the screen and when it runs out you die! but there's opportunity to pick up health kits and medikits so life doesn't ebb away.

You can creep behind object, peek out round corners and generally play like a coward if you so desire - I tend to go out gund blazing and the jobs a goodun but it's up to you how you attempt each mission.
There's the excellent autosave which I can't rate enough and the option to play either as a green, veteran or hero - I've successfully completed Veteran 100% but Hero's far too hard for me. But it's a good enough game that I may try one day.

There's a Skirmish mode that I think is far too hard - you're scored by how many times you've killed minus how many times you've been killed. I've never played multiplayer but there's the chance to battle upto 31 opponents.
The graphics are great - there's no blood or gore (it's a 16+ rating) though I don't even think it's particularly violent or shocking either. The environments range from snow covered lands to war-torn cities and all are very good graphically (can't say historically as I've no clue). The Sound is good and helpful to have on - 'enemy troops' is a great warning to be on your guard that otherwise you wouldn't know.
Price New: £15ish or £3.00ish ebay

Online Modes: Competitive, team orientated
Release Date: Nov 2006

****Summary****

The only problem I have with this game is that it's far too short and the only differences between the difficulty levels are shooting abilities and the amount of health that depletes - no new objectives to or levels. It's also over far too quickly so I was disappointed that even I properly completed it within 3 days. It is a good game, the graphics and playability are highly addictive.

Summary: Good entertainment
